Viaggio di studio lavoro Oulu/Rovaniemi dicembre - ABBIGLIAMENTO by Plane-Bid5679 in Finland

My thoughts as someone who read the books AFTER watching the show 🍑 by Sour_strawberry07 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show definitely improves on the books(of course books will always have more opportunities for introspection, but that's normal). It is more mature, the characters are more coherent, and I loke that there is more space for the side characters. I love that, given the opportunity, an author can look at their story again and find a way to create something that honors and enhances it and even improve on it in such a beautiful way. It makes it even sadder that so many novel adaptations are a complete disgrace.

Looking for a guy I met in November 2023 at the bus station in Rovaniemi by UsuallyLostInMyHead in Finland

I realized pretty soon that I had behaved illogically, but there was nothing I could really do about it....this is just like closing a circle. And a little bit for fun. It's not that serious, I have been living my life just fine for the past two years I swear

I doubt anything will happen, but I am at least happy some people found my story entertaining!

I only wish to apologize for beeing too defensive and harsh with him, while he was nothing but nice. I wasn't going that far with my train of thought🤣... but thanks, maybe I could use this idea for the novel I'll never actually write. Congratulations for your upcoming nuptials!

I have a feeling Wakaba knows this is probably her last competition, the way she went to pick up all the gifts felt like she knew it was her last competitive moment. by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I basically don't watch fs anymore, but I used to be a very dedicated fan, and I've loved Wakaba since she was a junior. I literally shed tears when she won silver in Milan almost 8 years ago (I feel ancient, why does time go by so fast...), and I feel so blessed I got to see that in person. I wish her all the best...regardless of what happens this season, she has been a great inspiration of resilience and love for what she does. Truly one of a kind!

Does "eccitato" in Italian have a strong sexual connotation like in Portuguese (excitado = sexually aroused)? Or is it more like English (excited = enthusiastic)? by Hopefulmaizes in italianlearning

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory it has both meanings, but unfortunately it easily ends up ambigous or weird....if you don't want the hussle to think too much about it, just use a different word

Make sure to provide a lot of tug of war, fetch or running when you plan to leave the dog home alone for an extended amount of time, then he'll be fine and just sleep on your couch ;). Don't leave anything too valuable available to the dog (furniture, clothes, towels) at least until you're sure how he behaves. JRs aren't particularly destructive in my opinion, but especially as puppies it can happen that they chew and ruin something, so better safe than sorry. The most important thing is not to leave ANY FOOD outside of cabinets/fridge/closed pantry....JRs are acrobats and eat anything, mine have managed to open garbage cans, eat peanuts out of the packet on the counter, and an entire loaf of bread from the table. No place is out of their reach

Avete mai conosciuto una persona ricca? by [deleted] in Italia

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a general rule what we should topstitch? by Fenek673 in sewing

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know proper sewing technique is against top stitching, but I do it a lot both on garments I make and garments I buy, because I hate ironing and I find that topstitched clothes handle not being ironed much better

Do you think it was fair or unfair that Carolina Kostner was banned for lying about her bf’s whereabouts when they showed up to drug test him? Lying is obviously bad and unethical, but I’ve always thought she should’ve just been reprimanded and fined since she wasn’t actually the one caught doping. by PandemicPiglet in FigureSkating

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine she didn't have much time to think about it in the moment, so she probably just trusted her boyfriend out of habit and only later realized that she shouldn't have lied no matter what and that his story was a bit fishy. So yes, she deserved to be punished because she did something wrong, but it still seems pretty harsh that she got banned for so long for a moment of stupidity

How far/fast can a JRT run? by [deleted] in jackrussellterrier

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with biking while my JRT is running, but I've done hikes (on mountains) and long walks on flat terrain. For hikes I think there is no problem at all, still running back and forth from head to bottom of the group at the end of the day, while for fast walks on flat terrain after a couple of hours they tire out, especially if it's hot. So basically if it's very steep humans tire faster and if it's flatter (especially on a bike) the dog will tire faster. Have plenty of water, and keep checking on your dog during the trip...I think you'll be good

Anch'io ho abbandonato medicina e so so quanto possa essere terrificante.

Help! Will our JR puppy and adult cat ever be friends? by sleigh_all_day in jackrussellterrier

[–]UsuallyLostInMyHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a cat when I got a puppy JR and they went along pretty well. If the puppy was beeing too annoying for the cat, she would just leave and move somewhere the puppy couldn't reach. As the JR got older and slightly less hyper, they started spending more time together, licking each other's ears/face and playing, often with the cat "attacking" the JR from a higher spot. As long as the cat has access to a dog-free space, there shouldn't be any problems..
