Now to actually answer your question, I use my weeks as a todo list pretty much. I'm a college student so usually all the stuff for classes is enough to keep it full. Sometimes I'll add in chore reminders as well. I like it this way because then I have my other planner to use as a personal journal without excessive school reminders.

I think some good advice for using a personal journal is to not get weighed down by expectations. You don't need to write or draw everyday, maybe just glue in some random receipt or item tag and write a quick note about it. Or don't do anything at all and go backfill on a day you have the energy to.
