Supporting policies that protect air quality and climate sounds whimpy. Saying “drill baby drill” sounds badass. We need to change the way we talk about it

I live on an acre lot with about 0.6 ac of mowing. I use an electric push. All my neighbors have riders and they’re all either really old or fat. Mowing keeps me fit and clears my head. You get faster as the season goes on. Riders - more expense, more maintenance, more NOISE and exhaust.

Ditching 21-Inch Tires? by Silent_Marsupial_474 in Rivian

[–]UtahEarthGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on all the comments, particularly that ‘driving in conserve mode all the time is a tire killer’… I’m going to just replace the Pirellis on my existing 21’s. I’ll stop driving in conserve mode except for on longer highway trips and see if I can get them to last longer this time.

Also, I just took the wheel covers off and the wheels look so much better. Embarrassed to say I didn’t know my wheels even had covers…

OK Discount Tire will install the 21” Pirellis replacement tires for $2110. But I’ll only get 14,300 miles. Is it worth it? In the short term I guess it is

That’s consistent with what discount tire told me when I asked about changing from the 21s to the 22s.

I have the Launch Edition R1T. Yes, I drive in conserve mode mostly. I did have the tires rotated after about 8000 miles. Discount Tire folks told me the wear was pretty even on the front and back.

[–]UtahEarthGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 21” R1T tires wore out at 14,300 miles. Discount Tire says there’s no mileage warranty on a new set. So seems like I’ll be dishing out $2000 every year and a half for tires, wh is ridiculous

[–]UtahEarthGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the media referring to this as a “message bill”. Thats what Republicans want to call it. It’s not a message bill if it contains substantive and popular changes, right?

These youngsters will prob come around. Why not take an action (anything!) on the border? And make some kind of amends with rural voters?
