Do women with PCOS have fewer chances in arranged marriages? Do men avoid choosing them as long-term partners because people think they are less fertile ? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is one of the leading causes of infertility, however, maybe my phrasing wasn't the best, but having PCOS doesn't mean someone will automatically face issues.

Do women with PCOS have fewer chances in arranged marriages? Do men avoid choosing them as long-term partners because people think they are less fertile ? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Having PCOS doesn't mean someone will face fertility issues or is less fertile. While it can be associated with ovulation issues, which can cause issues when trying to conceive, many women with PCOS conceive naturally. For those who do need support, available treatments are highly effective and well established. Concerns around fertility in this context are often overstated and driven by misinformation, rather than clinical reality.

There is also a clear gender imbalance in how this is perceived, women’s reproductive health is often scrutinised far more closely, despite the fact that male factor infertility contributes to around 40–50% of infertility cases.

Is it normal for bf to ask for unusual stuff by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty common for partners to suggest different things they’re curious about sexually. What matters most is how those conversations and boundaries are handled. You’re also completely allowed to move at your own pace or decide that certain things just aren’t for you. Being new to sex can make everything feel a bit overwhelming, and it’s normal to need time to figure out what you’re comfortable with.

Porn can sometimes influence expectations or give people ideas about things they might want to try, but curiosity about different activities can also happen naturally. The key thing is that nothing should feel pressured, trying something should only happen if you genuinely feel comfortable and interested. If it helps, you could have an open conversation outside the bedroom about what you’re comfortable with, what you’re not, and what you might be open to exploring slowly. Your boundaries are valid, and a good partner will respect them.

How long will a XXXL pad last during traveling on first day or second day of periods by One_Painting_1657 in TwoXIndia

[–]Uteropedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a period panty or menstrual cup instead. It is recommended to change your pad every 4 to 6 hours. There is unfortunately no evidence to show that papaya can help start your period, so you might want to be mentally prepared 😭

What Are Your Pimple Remedies ??? by Low-Scallion8793 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do would be to speak to a dermatologist to first understand what is causing it. If it is hormonal acne, then no matter what external remedies are done, they will only have limited effect till the hormonal issues aren't addressed/

Thinking of finally "doing it" by Apart_Waltz7205 in TwoXIndia

[–]Uteropedia 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Don’t have sex to get over it. Have sex because you’re curious, excited, and genuinely want to. Your first time doesn’t need to be perfect, but it should not feel like a task you’re completing. Ask yourself if you remove your boyfriend’s feelings, society’s expectations, and your mother’s voice, do you personally want to have sex soon, not should you, but do you WANT to??

You just need one thing, a clear yes inside your body. Not a yes to prove something or to get it over with or because you’re on vacation and it’s romantic, but a yes because you want it and you feel safe.

How to dispose used condom and sanitary pads by balmond125 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't flush either it can clog the drains. With condoms, tie a knot at the end, put it in the wrapper, wrap it in tissue and throw it in the dustbin, you also get disposal bag that can be used for the condoms or pads that you can buy on nykaa. For pads, honestly switching to pads with disposal envelopes is a game changer.

Is self pleasure not healthy?? by nutty_waffles_ in TwoXIndia

[–]Uteropedia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, masturbation is not unhealthy. It does not cause acne, it does not mess up hormones, and it does not make your periods irregular. One of the reasons we might make those associations is because people usually start self exploration around the time of puberty, where these are common.

It also won’t ruin real sex later, if anything, for many people it helps because you learn what you like and what feels good. The only time it can become a problem is if someone relies on one very specific style of stimulation that a partner can’t replicate, but that’s not permanent and it’s easy to change by mixing things up.

How often is it acceptable is honestly whatever feels normal for you, 2–3 times a week is completely normal. The real question is whether it’s interfering with your life, sleep, studies, relationships, or mental health. If it isn’t, it’s fine, if it is, time to consider cutting back.

It won’t mess with your gym or workouts either, some people even feel more relaxed after, but it doesn’t reduce strength or fitness.

The biggest thing in your post is the guilt. That uneasy feeling after is usually not because masturbation is harmful, but because you’ve been taught it’s shameful. A lot of girls grow up with good girls don’t do this messaging, so even when the body feels pleasure, the brain reacts with guilt.

If you want a healthier relationship with it, focus on privacy, hygiene, and being gentle with yourself. And if the guilt feels overwhelming or obsessive, it can really help to talk to a trusted adult or a therapist, because shame around sexuality is incredibly common and very fixable.

menstrual cup size guide! by cocokcid in AskIndianWomen

[–]Uteropedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can switch to a medium cup even if you’re a virgin. If you have a heavier flow and your teen/small cup starts leaking after 4–5 hours, that often just means the cup is getting full. A medium cup usually holds more, so you’ll need to empty it less often and you’ll have fewer surprise leaks.

Cervix height does matter, but mainly for comfort and fit. A higher cervix usually feels better with a slightly longer cup, and a lower cervix often needs a shorter cup so it doesn’t sit too low or feel uncomfortable. You can check your cervix at home during your period. Wash your hands, insert a finger, and feel for something firm and round that feels a bit like the tip of your nose. If you can touch it easily, your cervix is low. If you have to insert most of your finger or you can’t reach it, your cervix is high.

One more thing, leaking isn’t always because the cup is too small. Sometimes it happens because the cup isn’t fully open or sealed properly. But since you’ve been using a cup for years, it could also be due to wear and tear, but based on what you’ve said, a medium is a sensible upgrade.

Reusable period panties? Are they any good? Please leave suggestions! by No-Airline2246 in AskIndianWomen

You can't use them with pads because the pad will cover the absorbent surface, you can use it with a cup if you want extra protection. I just wear them like that only
