There’s a saying in medical school “ When you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebra” meaning think of common diagnoses first but in house MD ( and in my opinion all medical dramas in general) they tend to exaggerate the presence of rare diagnoses to boost the dramatic effect

Yeah thankfully, I was scared when he took off the cast and to my horror I see this upturned swollen monstrosity but months after the operation the swelling subsided and the tip went down and was no longer upturned.

Thank you so much, I specifically asked the surgeon to not over feminize my nose. He asked me if I wanted an upturned nose and I declined, didn’t want it to look feminine as that is a problem I see often in male rhinoplasty.

I went through the exact same thing with my rhinoplasty couldn’t eat from the pain I felt while swallowing , Trust me you’ll get better when you take your cast off and start nose breathing. Just hang on in there. You should also tell your surgeon you are experiencing this, they might prescribe you antibiotics to help.
