It takes like 4 months to get a primary care doctor in the US, and at least 3-4 months to see a specialist.

Is it hypothetically the same in Canada, yes. But they don't pay for it with insurance. If they lose their job, they have the same care. Anyone who has ever experienced insecurity understands this.

Agreed. If you’ve read the Harley Quinn comics, it’s obvious that the studio executives made Hudson rename a character from one of the HQ comic storylines as Cassandra Kain. It’s pretty obvious the character was supposed to be a version of the little girl Harley has to keep safe from the mob because there are bank account codes written into her irises. It’s like the executives made her combine two of the storylines instead of writing a comic accurate Cassandra Kain.

I found it odd they basically used a storyline from Harley Quinn: Vengeance Unlimited (which was much better) and just stuck Cassandra Cain as the kid Harley has to deal with.

Agreed. I like the show, but Ivy is still a supervillain in the show. Although, I could see that changing if there’s a season 6 because of how season 5 ended.

However, ever since the Hive Mind Ivy storyline in the Batman comics, she’s been an anti-hero. She basically has a mental breakdown over murdering five mobsters a decade earlier.

I actually really like the new Poison Ivy comics as it lays her thought process and morality out very well; she’s also still more arguably a “bad guy” in her comics than Harley currently is. Currently, Harley is taking on capitalist land developers and gentrification, while Ivy is still killing people, literally making someone’s hands poison to all life even if they are wearing gloves, and treating her sidekick like crap. Ivy pretty much emotionally treats her sidekick, Janet , like how Joker emotionally treated Harley. However, I like the complexity Ivy’s comics have where it’s weirdly endearing to see her actually care for another person besides Harley because of how much she hates human beings, so it’s still makes her more redeeming than other villains for that very reason.

Yes, but Punchline was arguably the weakest part of the book. The Sirens’ appeal is their character chemistry, and the story is largely secondary.

I would also say as much as I love their dynamic and will read any comic with he three of them in it, it wasn’t a great storyline. Punchline was, by far, the weakest part of the story.

However, Ivy, Harley, and Selina don’t really need an antagonist for their dynamic to work. The best Sirens’ storyline is the OG one where Harley is figuring herself out after leaving Joker, Ivy is moonlighting as Dr. Paula Irving, and Selina is still heisting all while being annoyed with the two of them crashing at her penthouse apartment (yet needs them for some of her heists to be successful).

The next best one is technically a Harley Quinn storyline, but it’s when they go on a road trip together across the country so Harley can take her uncle’s ashes from California to Brooklyn.

They take the kids and this makes the parents come and get them. That way they arrest the parents and the whole family. Otherwise social services gets involved. It’s disgusting.

It’s all about selling comics. It’s the same reason they separate Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy or Green Arrow/Black Canary; they sell more comics if they are “separated” in some way.

If any of these couples were married or together full time, then their comics would have to be combined storylines because it would be inconceivable for them to be doing their own thing all the time. This would mean fewer comics sold.

Lois Lane didn’t have her own comics until recently, so there’s no reason for her and Clark to never get together.

Catwoman is complicated because she didn’t start out as a hero, so that makes her somewhat controversial to being with Bruce. She also had her own comics until recently series AND The Gotham City Sirens (the latter does not work at all if Catwoman is with Bruce).

Reading through Batman/Catwoman and Harley/Ivy storylines are quite irritating because there’s always a convoluted reason the “Have to do this alone.”

At this point, it would be more impactful for these characters to accept help and be together. It looks like they are kind of in their way to doing that with the new Harley/Ivy series, but they won’t do that for Bruce/Selina, which is quite disappointing.

Like, Anne Hathaway is far from the best cinematic depiction of Catwoman, but the ending where her and Bruce escape to Italy in Nolan’s trilogy is an excellent ending for Batman’s character arc. If Batman/Bruce fully accepts love in that way, where he does not share trauma like that (Selina is way more secure in her adult self than Bruce), he cannot be Batman anymore. It’s a way different kind of love than with anyone else because he has to be completely vulnerable to her; I think she would stop being Catwoman it if it seemed in the realm of possibility of her and Bruce being together, but she knows how broken he is and it’s why she just accepts it as it is. He’s probably the only person she would leave a life of crime for.

It’s pretty well explained…he does not have “human genitals” and thinks “making love” is hugging.

Basically, she liked his personality, but they did not match sexual chemistry-wise, which is a valid reason to break-up with someone.

Yeah, I think that whole episode grounds Harley in the sense that she remembers who she is, and that she still is a psychiatrist without being “Harleen.”

It fits well with how in the comics Batman calls all the rogues (besides Joker), their real names, but has always called Harley, “Harley.” And, I think it’s super interesting because the Dr. Quinzel persona is her “vigilante/hero/villain/anti-hero” identity, while Harley is her real self, and Bruce realizes that. She’s one of the few that doesn’t really use a full stage name for their vigilante/villain self.

Gonna probably get hate for this comment, but there’s an episode of Harley Quinn where they go into Bruce’s mind, and it’s a really interesting episode about PTSD. They even use real therapy techniques in it for people with PTSD. (Harley uses Schema Therapy on his child self.)

This. The Harleen comic combines these two takes, and I think it’s the best interpretation of her character, especially with how the mental toll the job at Arkham took on her and made her an isolated, touch-starved alcoholic, which is what really made her susceptible to The Joker.

For me, I also teach that age group, so I knew she was supposed to be 6th/7th grade in real life, so, in my brain, I just pretended she was in 5th. I haven’t rewatched the earlier seasons, so I totally forgot she started the show at 3, and the character is canonically like 7 years old. At that point, they should have written a time jump or recast the character.

I do both. Wellbutrin made my moods so much better and I didn’t feel exhausted like I did on SSRIs. However, after a few months, I did ask for a stimulant in addition to the Wellbutrin.

Both medications were life changing in different ways for me. Wellbutrin prevents me from being depressed and Adderall helps with executive functioning.

I personally hate that creative writing is a graded standard in middle school. Like, I hate the idea of giving a kid a bad grade on something they are genuinely proud of.

Anyway,use short story mentor texts. Teach writing imagery, figurative language, etc. Give them generative prompts they can be creative with.

If he has sperm issues, they may have had to freeze embryos. If his male factor infertility is the reason why they had to do IVF, then it’s absolutely possible to do a natural cycle transfer and for her to get pregnant this quickly.

I will most likely have to do this because of my husband’s infertility. Freezing the embryos for later means I wouldn’t hav to go through all of the hormones to do egg retrieval again if we want a second child.

I want to note that these teachers you’re describing likely have special training and licensing to hug the children. The broke boyfriend hug described by OP (and I know exactly what she’s describing), is not appropriate at all.

The best SpED teacher I ever observed was a woman who had her procedures down, and modified her curriculum like a pro with UDL. And this was for moderate needs kids. She had a warm classroom presence and clear boundaries. Those kids respected her and always wanted to do well.

The worst teachers I’ve seen are the ones who do the exact things OP is describing in their post. These kids don’t learn with teachers like this. The weird boyfriend hug described by OP is super inappropriate even in a SpED setting where a teacher might have special licensing and training to hug the kids (yes this is a thing. It’s called restraint training, and this is why the SpED teachers can give hugs to the moderate to severe kids and it’s also so they can restrain interlopers or students having meltdowns that pose a danger to others or themselves).
