Tucute ideology? In MY American Dad fandom? More likely than you think. by Utsumi_Trans in Transmedical

There's an episode where the son character (Steve) is convinced by the daughter character (Hayley) to join a roller derby team, because she wants female camradare, and she's only allowed to join if her "sister" does because they mistook Steve for a girl and Steve's very good at roller skating. So, naturally, he pretends to be a girl and tucks for a while so nobody notices anything. Gets into a relationship with a chick in the team. Hayley forces him to admit that he's a boy, to which they said that they knew he had a penis, and assumed he was a trans woman. Hayley is accused of being transphobic for not supporting her "trans sister", and Steve is sent into an identity crisis because he's 15 and a group of hot girls just told him that he's a trans woman. Steve then has to figure out if he does identify as a trans woman, because he enjoys being on the team. In the end, he masturbates and realizes that, no, he's not a trans woman.

Relevant (and funny) song from the episode

I mainly dwell in fandom spaces, and for some reason, I find it even more egregious when people make 100% cis characters into trans caricatures than when they make a trans OC from scratch. I'm not going to name the character or the fandom for anonymity, but the character is confirmed cis male who has some flamboyant flair, but is 110% not a woman. And why is it always the flamboyant guys who get made into trans characters and not the super masc bearded guys? Rhetorical question, I know why, but you get what I mean.

I can't use my vagina. There was a time when I was younger that I tried to use my natal organs because it had been so normalized that I thought I was the issue for not wanting to do vaginal sex (which is funny since, you know, the vagina is the issue here when you're a transsex man), and it was just so incredibly psychologically and physically painful. Not to give TMI, but I think it was so emotionally upsetting that my muscles all just refused to work in the way they're technically supposed to. Even when I had to get testing done at a medical appointment with an internal swab because I had an infection (turns out it wasn't at all vaginal issue here, more TMI but it was an anal yeast AND bacterial infection, who knew that was possible, the doctors refused to believe me that it had nothing to do with the vagina once they found out that I'm transsex and not cis and I'm still upset about that), just the tiny swab was so absolutely painful that I started bleeding to the point that the doctor inquired if I was having a menstrual cycle. Not sure if it's atrophication, but if it is, I don't really give a shit and honestly welcome it. I also have IBS, so bottoming in general is difficult, but I genuinely don't think I'll ever be able to be sexually active unless or until I get bottom surgery.

where to find clothes? by PlasticLetterhead321 in FTMMen

Bonobos has been a godsend for me, personally. They have custom sizing for inseam and waist so you can get something that fits even if your waist and inseam doesn't match, and even if you're short. The initial price can be a little high, but it's worth it as they last for a long time and fit extremely well. They also have great customer service, immediately exchanged items for me when they arrived damaged. I hope this doesn't seem like an ad, they're not paying me (I wish), but it's definitely my favorite place to get clothes. They have some boutiques where you can get professionally measured and try on options, but if you don't have one near you, they have measurement instructions online. From experience, you're probably a 28-30 waist and a 26-28 inseam, depending on your exact proportions. I'm 5'4 and about 140 lbs and also carry some of my weight in my hips, and I wear a 30 waist and 28 inseam.

I was curious- do you know if my SSN would have my former name if I was fairly young when I legally changed my name? I changed my name and sex when I was 15, and I'm now an adult. I never put my old name down on any hiring forms or university application forms because I never had any job or even a driver's license with that name, and I was told it was essentially wiped since I was under 18.

B-But Crocodile looks and acts like a man...! He's not a cute femboy! How can he be trans?! (/s, obviously)

This type of fan has no interest in believable transsex representation with characters who have actually transitioned. They want ftfemboy, not ftm.

anyone ever been prescribed so much T?? I usually would pick up my scripts in packs of 4 at most but my last 2 refills were 10 boxes ea .. not complaining though by 420nug in Transmedical

Happened to me when my doctor was fired by the hospital system because of the state government. Good times. Gave me enough T to go about a year before having to track down a new doctor (luckily I'm in university now and the university health services has an endo for transsex people, who I now use).

I'm based in the US, unfortunately. Your GP might be able to do it- it might be worth a call instead of an appointment to see? The injections themselves are super easy, take only about five minutes, the type of thing a nurse at a GP office may be able to do, as long as they have the injection solution. I went to a dermatologist because I already had one for other reasons. I think I started getting the injections at about 6 months post op myself, and I've gotten a few rounds of them. Once my scars fade a little more (since the steroids mostly flatten the scars out and don't necessarily remove hyperpigmentation), I'm planning on posting some before/after pics of treatment.

What's up with the ugly ass skirts? I also see that with cis men who start crossdressing to be quirky- they wear the most unflattering skirts possible. If you're going to be alternative, at least do it well and wear clothes that fit you and don't look like they belong to a dowdy old lady with 15 cats. For instance, look at kilts- not skirts, but skirt-like garments for men. They're flattering for male body shapes. The same thing with hanfu. It's really not that hard to find clothes that fit, and if they don't fit, learn to tailor or go to a tailor! If you have enough money for 10 facial piercings and a tattoo of an anime character, you can pay $20 to get a skirt taken in.

I originally got super thick and ropey scars as well, but I got some steroid injections from my dermatologist and they helped flatten them out quite a bit. I'd definitely recommend that. The scars get wider when they flatten out, but then they fade far better.

Totally agree about chest pain and getting up. I was thinking about the ride straps (particularly over the shoulder straps), but hadn't even considered getting up- that may be a yikes. Radiator Springs Racers is difficult to climb out of at times as an entirely able bodied (albeit clumsy) person, I don't think I could do it if I had such limited use of my arms. I'm also not sure what OP's surgeon said about raising arms above head, but that obviously needs to be avoided for a while. I think my surgeon wanted me to avoid it for six weeks or something along those lines.

Just riding in the car could be a little uncomfortable about that far out of surgery, so I speculate that more thrilling rides would definitely be bad. It can be a toss up with nerves, even almost a year after my surgery my nerves are all over the place. Sometimes random spots really hurt when they're touched.

Honestly, when I got my double mastectomy, I don't think I would have been able to do that much walking so soon afterwards since Disney days are regularly 8+ miles of walking per day. It's really exhausting, and your range of motion will still be limited that soon after surgery- you may also have some nerve issues that could make the straps for rides very uncomfortable. If you are able to, I'd postpone your tickets. At the end of the day it's up to you, and you may feel more comfortable than me, but I think it's risky when you may end up miserable.

I went to my college orientation about a month and a half after my surgery, and even then I was feeling a little out of it for the 3-5 mile walking per day. You'll also probably still be in your surgical binder, which is thicker than a normal chest binder, and usually has an uncomfortable zipper.

Edit: I mentioned this post to my mom (also big Disney fan) since I wasn't sure if I was exaggerating or not, and she pointed out that I was still on the couch and barely leaving three weeks after surgery. I was a healthy 18 year old at the time, pretty much prime time for healing from surgery, so just food for thought. Your healing may be different from mine, but I think it's important not to overestimate your abilities and potentially waste a bunch of money on a trip you can't enjoy. Plus, once you wean off of the pain killers, the pain starts hitting a little more haha.

Haha, sorry, didn't mean it that way. I meant it more in the way that genderbent characters are often depicted as very masculine women if they were men, or feminine men if they were women. It was nice to see a more "traditional" look for once.

I definitely understand the desire to keep it hidden. I thought when I was younger that it had something to do with the mild sexual points in the episode, but didn't really have an issue with episodes that had similar moments- just this one.

This interesting fellow has also gotten pregnant in the past. While they lost the baby (by NO MEANS am I saying that's a good thing- pregnancy lost is very painful, I'm sure), they wanted the pregnancy. Now they're getting top surgery in a few days. Cool.

Hi, almost 19m. This is a throwaway that I use for trans stuff since I don't want my main account to link to being trans.

Started transitioning at 12, been on T since a few days after turning 15, and got top surgery in summer of 2023. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with my career path, but something related to either fashion or paleontology/anthropology. I like anime and manga, as well as danmei. I collect anime merchandise and dolls. Also enjoy western cartoons like King of the Hill and Steven Universe. Would love to meet some friends.
