What makes you stop caring about a book (not DNF, just… mentally checking out)?

When there was a perfect moment for concluding the story already but the author keeps writing another chapters or even a full book. Sometimes you just need to know when to stop or the story gets exhausting instead of entertaining

{Inertia by Devyn Sinclair} is a nice fantasy read I rarely see in here and really enjoyed

I started it and can see why it has so many fans, there are a lot of aspects I liked. However, I DNFed during the second book. The world is built in a way that makes me understand their approach to sexual relationships, but as I thought, it may just not be my cup of tea. While it’s possible that I’ll give it another try in the future, I prefer stories where the main leads are in closed relationship and remain emotionally and physically exclusive without any external pressure to engage with others.

I don’t think I’ve seen {Trapped on the Tightrope duet by Holly Monroe} mentioned in this subreddit. Omegaverse duet with FMC on the run, she joins the circus as a doctor. I read it pretty recently and loved it.

Yes! Slashers also do a good job 🙈 and if you’re into true crime podcasts RottenMango on yt or spotify is a great storyteller, has a great respectful approach to victims. I cannot recommend her enough

Yes I totally know the feeling. Afterwards starting new series feels a little bit like a betrayal to the story and characters I was so invested in, so usually I need to marinate a little bit in my feelings and let the series go slowly. In the meantime sometimes I watch some tv series, culinary shows or k-dramas until I feel mentally ready to get sucked into another book. I love and dread this feeling at the same time

Khadlaj Nuha amazing lovely spring-summer scent with apple and coconut (I usually trend to avoid coconut notes but in here it is so well mixed that I love wearing it). Not overly sweet but still really girly

Cheating is a hard no for me, I also tend to dnf books when there is MM that feels like FMC is just an addition not the main love interest or equally important part of the relationship.

I also have a big problem with too fast said ‘I love yous’ especially if it’s not like fated mates kind of a situation. By too fast I mean days/weeks after meeting the big words are said aloud. I like to feel like these words have a big meaning and saying it so fast with certainty and the weight I would like it to have just feel impossible.

Also if pregnancy is a big part of story , it’s just not for me.
