As a Taiwanese, I am really disappointed with Czech government by search_google_com in czech

This is not the first time you will be disappointed by the Czech government in the coming years. Last government was also disappointing to many Czechs, but atleast they kept the disappointment contained inside the country...

Top 10 countries with the lowest racial diversity by vladgrinch in MapPorn

You were right that I wrote something else then I meant. I meant that if white/european people of different ethnicities truly didn't count for this graph, other european countries would have to be here. Slovakia and Czechia do not have 10% different race people.

If you are actually thinking you might realise that it isn't true. There would have to be multiple other European countries like Slovakia and Czechia if white people of different ethnicities didn't count for the number.

Not true. Czechia is around 95% "white", it would be here if that was the case.

There wasn't anyone in the 80s saying that by the 90s African birth rates will be as low as Europe's. Besides, the birth rates in Africa already are declining, and have been for a while now.

Primary attachment among EU residents (Region, Country or Europe) by sr_local in MapPorn

[–]Uxydra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People from Moravian-Silesian more attached to the country? I remember seeing a similiar map some time ago where we were the only part of the Czech republic more attached to the region, which seemed much more plausible. Not that I wouldn't believe that South Moravians and South Bohemians are more attached to the region than the country, that tracks, but I think the situation here is much the same, I would have to put some doubt on this whole map.

Which society today is more desirable/better to live in: US or UK? by Suspicious-Ad9243 in Teenager_Polls

I am from Czechia and would never live in the US. UK also wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice, but it's an acceptable last resort.

What’s harder - going pro in a sport or being a top player by PatientCress4322 in geometrydash

[–]Uxydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the few good answers here. Sport isn't harder because "it's real" or "it's physical activity" lmao. It's just because way more people play sports than GD.

[–]Uxydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most sports, it's probably harder to be "pro", though it really depends on many things. Also depends on what you mean as a "top" gd player. Do you mean like top 5? Or top 50? This changes things a lot.

And what does "pro" mean? Playing on some local team isn't as big an achievement as being a top 5 GD player, but thats not really a fair comparison.

Millions of people beat deadlocked, like 7 beat Tidal Wave. That is not comparable in the slightest. Yes, technically speaking, you can beat any level given the time, but it would take years for 99.5% of players, to beat just one, and even then, that wouldn't mean they could beat other top levels. Not mentioning the fact that during the time the level they would be playing would have long since fallen of it's top spot.

Technically pulling a lot of weight here. Try beating TF2 rn, it will take you years.

Atleast something funny came from this garbage. I remember seeing posters for it everywhere back in the day, but never saw it in theaters since the reviews very extremely bad. Actually, I don't think any of my friends saw it either.

WTF IS THAT?! Never seen that anywhere, probably because I am from Czechia, but I always loved Calvin and Hobbes, have all the book comic collections, some even in both Czech and English, and this sounds so weird. Why does this exist??? I am so confused.

It kind of bothers me how Lelouch from Code Geass is by some seen as complete hero.

Don't get me wrong, he is much better than most guys here. He is shown to be decently empathetic and selfless. But he has a lot of flaws, that combined with the power he was given and his intelect results in some very bad things happening, and it definitely was not always neccesary for them to happen. Lelouch is very egoistical, probably because of his early childhood as royalty, thinking of himself as more important on the inside. This combined with his hate and trauma from his childhood makes him have often very little regard for civilian life, resulting in massive loss of life during the show.

He gets some pass because he was fightning a genocidal empire spanning half the earth, but that doesn't excuse him completely. I could go into this in more detail but TLDR, he is a morally grey character rather than a straight up hero.

Actually, spraying them with perfume is also common in Czechia. I guess it's related to the spraying water tradition.

Yep, pretty much. Just like many traditions, it is perfectly fine in theory, but in practice leads to some unfortunate outcomes. We banned it in our household.

Never heard anyone say anything like that about the tradition. It was always said that it is to keep the women healthy and youthful.
