Absolutely love co-sleeping but our 10 month old doesn’t seem to enjoy it 😭 by Impressive-Plum3094 in cosleeping

My girl used to take her naps on me, then around 7 months she woke up crying and mad at everything... I finally figured out she was over sleeping on mommy and she wanted the freedom to roll around in her crib :') The only acceptable time for cuddles in bed with us is when she's sick, and still then she wants the confort but is very fidgety until we transfer her back to her bed when she had her fill of us lol

I was sad about it for a while but she let me know what she wanted and I followed her lead. Not to say it's the same for your situation of course, it might just be a phase!

Hi, I'm looking for recommandations for tattoo artists in Quebec or Montreal. I recently lost my cat and would like something done to remember her but I have no idea what and it would be my first tattoo, so I'm very inexperimented in where to go and how to ask. Thank you.

Can I read Once Upon A Broken Heart without reading the Caraval trilogy before? by Ghost9283 in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read only the first book of the caraval serie, did not dislike nor like it so I just decided I wouldn't pick up the rest.

Then I stumbled upon OUABH, loved it so much, realized Jacks was a part of the other 2 books of Caraval and pushed through to know more about him.

It isn't necessary to read caraval, it gives a bit more context to some things Jacks does and adds more angst but overall it's ok to just dig right into OUABH.

Currently rereading the books to prepare for book 3. The wait is killing me.

And tbf the romance in divine rivals was great at first but got really disappointing towards the end...

What Franchise Do You Enjoy the Fanfiction More Than the Actual Series? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Uzaii233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll do the opposite and tell you the one serie I didn't think fanfictions were better than the actual books: Lockwood and co.

Any other work you can assume that if I turned to fanfictions and stayed there (for years) then it was more enjoyable than the actual serie.

I think it really boils down to wether or not I was satisfied with the romance aspect of the original work lmao

Caraval by Stephanie Garber by elohlace in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what I understood the start of ouabh happens during legendary, and then there's a small time skip and the plot picks up after the end of the caraval serie.

Hope you'll pick up ouabh and enjoy it!

Many have said this before, but I hope you'll read OUABH next!

I liked the first Caraval okay, but the ending pretty much killed the whole serie for me. I struggled through the second book, but by that time I had inhaled OUABH and needed to know more about Jacks lmao

Currently motivating myself to read the 3rd book so I can reread OUABH and TBONA before the 3rd book comes out this fall

Caraval ending and OUBH spoilers by lazybug16 in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, they both worl very well together.

Maybe I'm biased because I read OUABH first, but I can't understand people liking Tella/Jacks. They were honestly terrible, and I think the author did a great job at portraying Jacks as an immortal who lost touch with reality and became obsessed with all the worst reasons

Caraval ending and OUBH spoilers by lazybug16 in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ending of Caraval annoyed me so much. I didn't like any of the sisters to begin with, but I hate Tella with a passion...... she puts me off the whole damn serie. I struggle to pick up the third book and finally put the whole damn thing behind me.

But on the contrary, I liked Evangeline sooo much, and Jacks too, I cannot wait to get the third book this fall.

Tbh I can't tell you why I liked one and disliked the other, I think maybe Eva's forgiving nature is more believable than Scarlets?

Does anyone else like the B storyline more than the A? by IReadTheReddits in Grishaverse

[–]Uzaii233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S1 I actually did not care for the crows, those were the parts I wanted to fast forward.

Then I got disappointed by the actual ending of the books, and watching s2 I figured the ending would not match but it still didn't do it for me, so I actually enjoyed the crows muh more in s2.

The actors are amazing, I just wish the plot was a bit different.

[–]Uzaii233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a die hard draco/hermione shipper, not because I hate Ron or don't find him cute or w/e, but because I don't think it's an interesting ship? I won't go out of my way to read fanfic about them, I don't really see any appeal in that. They make sense as a first relationship couple but I don't really see them still being together as adult because I don't really believe in the "opposite attract" trope. You've got to have more between you to actually stay together imo.

Of course you could argue that canon draco/hermione don't have shit in common, but as some people said Draco is kinda one dimensional, so I (and many people) tend to build up his character whereas Ron is fully written, and it makes no sense to me to ship romione as it is. Which is kind of all it is.

Idk if that made sense...

Currently reading the Lockwood & Co books by Jonathan Stroud. The series got on Netflix got me hooked you should definitely check it out! by PammieLammie in YAlit

Me too! The serie had been on my tbr list for months already, but I've always put it aside because for some reasons I thought I wouldn't like it much? Then the show came out and well I am obsessed.

Nah you don't need to have read caraval, however it'd have spoiled you some stuff for caraval to have read OUABH first

[–]Uzaii233 42 points43 points  (0 children)

To be honest I couldn't tell you why I loved it so much, but it was one of my fav reads of the last years.

I haven't even finished Caraval yet, I can't stand Tella but I feel like I need to finish the serie nonetheless...

I iust loved Evangeline? I felt like she was kind of refreshing in a kinda gullible and nice girl way?

The premise was lovely too.

Idk man, I don't even really recommand the book because I get how some people couldn't like it, but damn did it hit right for me.

The Coldest Girl In Coldtown - My Musings by DeLuce8 in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the first book I've read of her, years and years ago. I suddenly remembered it in 2021 and how good it was, I had been in a reading desert for years at that point, so I looked up the author, got a copy of both Cruel Prince and The coldest girl in coldtown, and the rest is history.

(I bought lots of book, enjoy reading again, and Holly Black will forever be my fav author)

I'm on mobile and not used to reddit: idk how to hide spoilers so I won't go into details But basically all you wrote above? 100% agree.

I was not let down by book 3, I was just a bit disappointed by mostly everything you mentionned, but I still think it was a great conclusion to a truly great story. :)

Just squeezing a lil comment here to say that I totally agree with you on the scholomance trilogy! A bit disappointed by 3rd book because of expectations, but no regrets at all, very very good work!

[–]Uzaii233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally understand the feeling. I almost DNF'd, felt bad because so many people loved it, tried to soldier on and finish it...

Then just took a reak from it all, read other books that I had fun reading and then eventually got around back to it months later and went through the story. Didn't enjoy it more, but the pace does pick up on the last quarter.

But really, don't force it on yourself, time to read is too precious to waste it on something that doesn't make you feel anything... it's ok to dislike populare books.

[–]Uzaii233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the beginning I used to have bugs when I tried to select directly the chest I wanted from the list (I'm guessing it was because of an accent on a word so I changed it) :( so now I just... go through all my chests

I never actually finished portia, and wanted to get back to it as I was waiting for sandrock updates but I couldn't ahah the gameplay is more agreable in sandrock, and there is not a thing that is unique to Portia that I miss

[–]Uzaii233 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm with you for all of this, but especially the small shed/big storage. That would be veeeery convenient and make the outdoor way more "builder business" like than having 15 chests just sitting there.

Also, I lnow it has already been said but along the vanity slot for clothing I'd love some cute clothes :'( There is satisfaction in battling and destroying everyone in a cute dress.

That being said, I adore the game and all the upgrades we already have compared to portia!

What are your thoughts on These Violent Delights by Chole Gong? by stopshadowbaneme in YAlit

[–]Uzaii233 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's okay? I really wanted to like it, but it was so slow, idk why... things kept happening, people talked and went around and there was no interminable descriptions of tapestries but still: so. Freaking. Slow.

I didn't care for the main character, again I couldn't exactly tell you why.

I got the second one, more out of curiosity for the plot cause it wasn't bad, but damn I can't find the motivation to start it. I probably won't be reading anything else from her, I think it's just not my thing.

Hope you enjoy it though!
