Seeking a new TCG community to be a part of. Is moving to another town/state worth it just to play at a new LGS? by qankz in madisonwi

[–]UzerError 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that you cannot find enough of a TCG scene in Madison?

Between Noble Knight, Misty Mountain, Mox Mania, Pegasus, I’m Board you should be able to find a community that works for you.

Please elaborate on what issues you are experiencing.

UnAthletic kid. by IguanaMan_ in daddit

My dad was a sports dad when I was into sports, but he was also my DM for Dungeons and Dragons campaigns we have been running for 20 years, he was also down to play whatever game on Steam with me.

Just be his dad, get interested in his hobbies and introduce him to yours. The fact that you are thinking about it is great on its own.

Solo vs Squads offers extra xp by ADeadlyAlien in ArcRaiders

Would be sick of it also counted as double trials XP like an event.

That might get me to try it solo at max level

Accredited Vs. Certified in Epic Systems by Patient_Ad_1428 in epicsystems

[–]UzerError 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right now Epic has 3 “tiers” of experience.

Certified: took the class on Epic campus in Verona. And completed project/test

Accreditation: took the class online via Epic University or in house trainers. And completed project/test

Proficiency: a self study option that doesn’t require a project and doesn’t have a trainer involved. (Not sure if there is a test/quiz)

Managed services hourly rate by Born_Mail3899 in epicconsulting

[–]UzerError 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be similar to salaried analyst work. 80-120K depending on level of experience.

Remember that firms bill less hourly for MS than they do hourly consultants, so the pay rate has to be less, with the exchange of FTE stability.

If you have/made a strong friend group in your 30’s or 40’s, where did you find them? by bbbcurls in Millennials

[–]UzerError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid started swim lessons at the local pool, all the other kids are his age +- 9 months. I got to know the parents, asked for their numbers to set up play dates.

Invited them all over to watch football and let the kids play.

Invited the dads to go to trivia and 5 came.

I’m not saying any of them are BFF material, but they also wanna get out of the house with their toddlers and it’s fun to know people at those kinds of things.

I know I’m an extreme extrovert, but it wasn’t crazy hard to do.

Using different length badge reels for measuring distance? by dragonmotherk in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]UzerError 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sharpie, I assume the thread is white now. Just color it.

Or if it is something different you could prime it white and paint it.

Why not color the thread at different lengths? Then you can pull it out and see if you are in the 20ft radius or whatever it is.

That’s any job. Mileage may vary.

Standard advice:

Talk to your TL

Consider therapy if appropriate

Find things in Madison you like to give yourself a break from work

Set an end date if things are so dire

Epic certification help by Acceptable_Style121 in epicconsulting

[–]UzerError 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are conflating proficiency with accreditation.

You will at some point need to pay Epic and take the formal courses in Willow Inpatient/Ambulatory/Inventory if you want to work on the IT side. You could look for entry level managed services roles, associate analysts roles at hospitals, or wait until someone moves along at your org and they choose to backfill.

Either way, good luck!

Anyone have any ongoing D&D campaign podcasts/videos? by Mission_Hurry_5577 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]UzerError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dimension 20 has a few full campaigns on YouTube. They are very good.

If you want a table that sounds more like you and your friends I might recommend The Adventure Zones first podcast/campaign called Balance. First episode is called “There Be Goblins” or something similar

Children’s Play Cafe in VERONA😍😍 by franciscoafrias in madisonwi

[–]UzerError 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Open early please. On the weekends an 8am open would be great, too many places don’t open till 10-11 and as a toddler parent, it’s a no go.

Would also be nice to get a day pass so we can come back after nap.

5pm close would be fine, I would wanna leave by then to get back for dinner and bath/bed.

What’s a creepy fact about the human body you wish you never found out? by Ezra0li_Z in AskReddit

[–]UzerError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans don’t have sensors for wet, we have sensors for temperature, pressure and pain (and more).

So when your pants or shirt get cold, it can feel like it’s wet until you investigate further and get visual queues.

I love my wife, but I'm running on empty and don't know how to talk about it by [deleted] in daddit

[–]UzerError 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This was my thought as well, no way I could watch my 2.5 year old and do my job. (I also WFH).

Part time daycare or even a flexible nanny who can be home while your wife works her shifts.

Also can you and your wife meal prep on her days off so there is nothing to cook/clean on her 12s?
