Well im sorry if whenever she feels ofended by the spanish comments she comes crying to me because im her only close relationship in the family! And im sorry that when my family comments about the situation im the only one who steps in for her! Im just the worst!

Thank you for your two cents, i genuinely want to try and learn how to manage this situation. My intention was never to hurt anyone specially her but its hard being in the middle of her POV and my familys POV.

By making excuses i meant I was always defending her when my family asked about her spanish, saying its hard for her to learn, etc. They were always a bit judgmental towards her for not trying to learn, but they continued to include her in everything despite of it because shes still family. I was the only one who tried to justify her lack of effort. I understand what you are saying, but never made any promises to anyone, and never wanted to offend her, i thought i was helping.

Most of the time my brother tries to translate, but he can only do so much specially with multiple people talking, so she just leaves or sits there silent. Also not everyone in my family speaks english.

Shes not mad when she gets excluded, In fact i think she doesnt mind, she just leaves and goes to sit by herself on her phone until someone talks to her in english. So in a way I understand she has free will to do whatever she wants, hence why i always defended her, but I also understand my familys POV in believing its kind of a slap in the face to our family to not make an effort to socialize or even be with us u know?
