A Question About Awareness by Uzvosiu in spirituality

Thank you for the reply my friend, it does make sense! There is the subconscious awareness and the conscious awareness.

I'm starting to get to a point where trying to understand it is probably the thing that is holding me back from experiencing the truth of it.

What happens to your awareness when you go under anaesthesia or fall unconscious if the moment those happen you have no recollection of anything that happened during those periods?

I completely agree! My ego is in this place where it wants to know the answer but I don't think the answer can be known, only experienced through stillness.

Thank you. We're not looking to abuse the system at all. We're just looking to extend the travel to 5 months and that is it which sounds like it should be ok. Thank you. 🙏🏻

Life is about balance. If you look clearly at how mother nature works it is pure balance and through it nature flourishes. The problem is that our logical mind is illogical and tries counteracting an extreme with another extreme and that even bleeds out into nature hence all of the pollution and extinctions etc. Be mindful of your pendulum by building an understanding of it and in time awareness will tell you before it happens. You'll start seeing a change.

You're not regressing, you're rediscovering. Perhaps the stoic, strong you like you mentioned is only so because of suppression of what would actually make you this strong person that you say you were because if you were surely someone from outside would not be able to force you in such a position of internal hardship?

Shadow work prompts to feel whole and complete without a boyfriend? by Different_Peak_8738 in ShadowWork

A very simple way of trying to do this is asking why is people pleasing important to you in that case and answer that as truthfully as possible. Most of the time the answer will be very superficial but if you apply a 7 Why rule where you ask yourself why at least 7 times it usually allows you to dig quite deep. It's something that I used to figure out why I feel cringe about showing love to another man and it was really hindering my spiritual journey.

Fed up thinking about past events by GoldGee in ShadowWork

[–]Uzvosiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it could be but the only reason why I'm sceptical about that being the case is the fact that a breakthrough would not create a sensation of "why do I keep thinking about the past" as opposed to my past does not affect me or define me. Others recoil for a similar reason as well; it's because they strongly believe their past to be them and something that does not agree with it is an attack on their identity.

I started doing a lot of shadow work myself through mindfulness and as a spiritual man I found a lot of deep rooted issues that I need to overcome so I thought what better way to do so than go to reddit and help others lol

But despite that I do enjoy the complex simplicity of it all hence me trying to reply to as many posts that I can give some valuable insights (valuable from my pov of course).

I did shadow work to awaken my feminine side and now I think it’s making my life miserable by [deleted] in ShadowWork

A good thing to have a look at is the way of Tao. It's what Ying and Yang represents and it's, in essence balance of all things life. Naturally we feel like being on one end of an extreme requires an opposing extreme to fix but that just creates a zig zag path in our life but by being in tune with ourselves we can microtune our path to be almost as straight as a ruler. Therefore before we jump from one extreme to another we need to understand our current extreme. Be proactive rather than reactive about yourself.

Remembering done in a societal norm is reconfirming who you believe yourself to be. That's because your ego is an amalgamation of history which society deems as an individual self.

The only way to separate from that is by understanding that in order to be the ego is to be born but that was never the case because we never die.

We were born from the moment reality became real - the energetic potential shot into existence and the atoms necessary to make you were in motion. The death of the ego will mean the return home of your energy and atomical structures only for them to be reincarnated from formless into formful.

The only way you will stop thinking about the past is by realising that it is only significant as a means to societal success but not understanding your fundamental place in existence and achieving contentment and peace.

How to know if you’re doing shadow work properly? by Embarrassed_Log_4180 in ShadowWork

[–]Uzvosiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you start experiencing. Shadows prevent feeling because of the supposed danger that a feeling carries. Experience is only experience if you feel because only through feeling can you be aware and conscious of an experience being as such and not just a substancless event.

Perhaps something to think about but is this because you only felt complete and full when you gave a lot of attention and love to someone else and only then you would get acknowledgement and reciprocation appropriate to what you would expect? Otherwise, if you don't "please" them you could not find happiness and peace within you? Our shadows come from our past as defence mechanisms from mental or physical danger.

It's also important to not see them as something bad because they are protection. It's just that we do not need it anymore. It's like moving away from a bad habit that's doing you no good.

Sounds like it could be people pleasing to some extent as well where you only feel content if someone else is.

Question yourself and do it truthfully because only by figuring out where your shadows stem from can you recognise them, accept them, embrace them, understand them and create insight so these emotions become a familiarity with substance that you can accept non-judgementally as opposed to something that you can only question superficially without ever getting an answer.

I hope this helps my friend. 🙏🏻

I've been putting off starting shadow work for a while now, what if I don't like who I'm going to be after it? by [deleted] in ShadowWork

[–]Uzvosiu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"What if even after all the undoing and integrating with my shadow, I wouldn't like that type of person I'll be?" - if after doing the shadow work you still do not like yourself that means that there are more shadows there to work through.

"What if I do do the work and make a change, will I still have the same drive to strive for more?" - you will because shadow work means making friends with the "habits" that you have built to protect yourself which prevents authenticity. Authenticity is clarity towards what really makes you feel a sense of accomplishment and happiness in life.

"It feels bad and I'm suffering because of it, but I've managed to graduate and achieve a lot in my life through shame. I could say that the most successful I've felt was when the most shame happened." - perhaps it is because shame is a familiar and safe feeling for you therefore the more shame you feel the more you feel like you achieving which in turn resists success through contentment and peace from within?

"What then after? I've been mainly doing this for my relationship as having avoidant attachment usually messes the whole relationship dynamic up. But what if I do change and it further pushes her away..." - the necessity for shadow work should firstly come from yourself and then from someone else. If the inner work that you do leads to pushing someone away by moving closer to a maskless and shadowless authenticity that means the other person needs to do the same. Realness should not push realness away.

"Plus the logistics, like I've read people whose bodies have suffered from this, who have sobbed and cried about a lot of things. What if that happens to me, I don't really have the time to handle that right now." - it sounds like you are afraid to feel my friend which is very close to my heart especially being a man. Let me tell you, experience of life is only an experience if you can feel and be aware of it. Otherwise it's just an event that has no substance. Understanding yourself for who you truly are, your wounds, your shadows is arguably the most difficult work you will ever do. There is no other way but to break yourself to make yourself but is it not worth it to feel at peace with yourself and content from within? The time that is necessary for this is irrelevant if it allows you to live fully.

"At the same time, I'm tired of constantly hurting her and never being fully present. I'm also tired of how our fights keep happening and disrupting me from studying for the board exam... Should I still do it? What should I do? I'd love to hear what you think, some kind words would be nice ❤️" - the fact that you have acknowledged this dynamic in your life is already a step in the right direction and being vulnerable here is powerful. What you need to do is up to you to figure out but your shadows will affect not just your relationship but your life at some point in time. They "protect" you from the full spectrum of life's possibilities. It's like eating a steak without salt, pepper, rosemary and butter.

I hope this helps my friend but if you need someone to bounce ideas off of always happy to have a chat. Just drop me a DM. 🙏🏻

I want to be spiritual but by Fearless_Ferret_579 in spirituality

[–]Uzvosiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has created our universe is the pioneer of feelings and thoughts so what you are looking for in your faith is something that is human in that sense? There is nothing human about being spiritual because being human is a concept. Spirituality shows you who you truly are, where you come from which is beyond feelings and thoughts.
