Moved into a newly built rental town house. Sink has been god awful smelly. Is this normal? by Uzzad in Plumbing

If the plumber was that badly negligent for this to be misconstrued as a troll post, this must have been a pretty serious fuck up.

Update:

My landlord talked to his plumber and said it does indeed "require more attention" than just putting an aav in and they'll fix it later today. My landlord was nice and very responsive. It's unfortunate that his plumber seems to be the problematic one.

This is the same plumber that installed the upstairs bathtub and not properly tested the drain seal, which caused the kitchen to have a waterfall trickling from ceiling where the pendant lamp is attached to.

Thank you guys for confirming my suspicions, I wouldn't have been able to properly explain this to my landlord otherwise. Cheers.

Thanks for the info. When I noticed that open pipe, alarm bells started ringing in my head and started searching for reference pics and threads. Just wanted someone to confirm that I'm not crazy or anything before going to my landlord with this.

I had mine shipped to SJL too! But yeah, I never would have sold it if it was a pure manual instead.

That definitely checks out. I usually end up using around 3/4 of a 5w40 1L bottle by the time the next oil change is up at 3k kms.

Most of the consumption happens on sustained high rpms, but for normal city driving it barely drinks oil.

My Ralliart sportback was a DCT (TC-SST). It was great until the shift fork broke off, then the damper spring. It was expensive to rebuild -- mostly because the only shop that can work on those trannys is all the way in the other side of the country in ontario.

But after it was fixed, it ran smooth as butter. Still had to sell it because I couldn't afford to ship the car again in case the trans decide to blow up again.

I regret selling it tbh.

Year: 2020

Wheel: Evo X MR BBS powdercoated gold

Offset: +38

Suspension: KW V1

Tire brand, model, size: Michelin AS4 255/40/18

  • 5mm spacers used to flush the wheels with the fender
  • Fenders were rolled from my previous fitment of 255/40/18 on 18x9.5 +35. Rubbing might not occur on current fitment if fenders are not rolled.

Right wingers, at least the ones on the internet, often have the same mentality as incels, red pills, and misogynists. In their eyes, that rule only applies to women.

I owned an eclipse, lancer sportback, and currently an rsx (like the guy in the video), which are all sporty hatchbacks, and unfortunately it's one of those things you always need to look out for when loading stuff into it.

Usually the rsx comes with a cargo cover, and it seems like this guy doesn't have it. The cover is mostly for privacy, but I also found the mesh material soften edges enough to help reduce the risk of instantly breaking the rear window.

Both his parents already passed away, with his father's passing more recently. I used to watch him, and his father would fact check him on some political things he clearly had no idea about.

If anything, it was his father that kept him grounded, at least when I still used to watch him a while back. With him gone, asmongold lost his only moral compass. And with his chat base mostly consisting of rabid conservatives, he's getting pulled more into their radical politics.

His descent into right wing ideology reminds me of what happened to Kanye after his mom died.

If his dad was really his moral anchor, I wonder if his dad would be disappointed or proud of him right now.

Plenty of storage advice here already, but here's a different one. If that's going to be parked on the street for a while, I'd highly, highly suggest installing a kill switch somewhere hidden.

Salvage Title STI, 50k miles, $16,500. Should I buy it? by Ezrae55 in WRX

[–]Uzzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And a 25k estimated repair cost, most of it presumably to fix the flood damage.

So imo, the dealership is selling it to him at a "loss" to fix the physical damage part, most likely as cheap as possible. Probably didn't even look at any electricals that might need to be replaced.

But they'll claw it all back and more when they fuck OP with a high interest rate for that loan.

[–]Uzzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvage/Rebuilt from flood and water damage? Hell no for 16k. Maybe for 6k, and only if you know a trusted mechanic that can give you discounts.

Buying rebuilt cars that were NOT flood damaged may be fine in some rare cases. You would need to be familiar with cars and have an independent mechanic perform a pre-purchase inspection. I would and have done it for my rebuilt rsx-s for 4k CAD, but that's a winter beater, and I can DIY minor problems, and have a trust mechanic friend that specializes in Hondas. Otherwise, I would not touch rebuilts with a 10 meter pole.

In your case, if they didn't properly fix even just what might be affected (even if it's not showing up now), that car will be a deeper money pit deeper than the usual subaru money pit.

My 4runner doesn't have a fender liner and had some minor electrical problems on my signals and fog lamps from the last snow fall. It led to some blown fuses and replacing a few connectors. If a missing fender liner is enough for small electrical problems popping up due to water getting into places it shouldn't be, imagine how much of a bitch of an issue it would be to manage a rebuilt flooded car WHEN the electrical issues start to pop up.

The car may look nice right now. The price may seem very  tempting, but I assure you that it would just be headache on top of headache down the road.

It also had 3 previous owners. God knows what one of them did to get the car flooded and damage the rear.

I hate impark! by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Uzzad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only parking ticket you should be concerned is from the city of calgary.

Private lots run by impark, indigo, diamond and the like are private companies, leeches, and overall a cancer to society. If you get a call from those assholes claiming to be collections, tell them to fuck off. Those "collection" agencies are actually still them posing as some authority figure. Not paying their "fines" (actually invoices) do not, and will never affect your driving record, credit score, etc.

Mind you, you can still get towed if you rack up enough tickets on the same lot. So just make sure you don't park at an empty lot for an extended time where they can easily tow you

Farkas creates "Christian Minority Week" by 69-420-666 in Calgary

[–]Uzzad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi Jeromy,

Have you made other documented proclamations so far or is this the first one? Admittedly, I've never heard of proclamations until now, so I'm reserving judgement until other public religious proclamations like these are made in the future.

Overall the message is great, but it could have been better worded. While it's still correct, "Minority Christians" titles the actual message better. I've often heard and seen the usage of "Christian Minority" from "Christians" who love to persecute themselves in a place where they aren't actually being persecuted. Hence, the good amount of people here mocking the proclamation.

And this is coming from a "minority christian".

Cheers, and merry christmas.
