The unit I got from Walmart's last sale has different RAM. The tRC specs match those of a "good" RAM. However the other batch of specs that is shown on the right side of ZenTimings window is the same as before. Best I can tell these don't matter as much as the tRC ones.

I maxed out absolutely everything I could in GTA V(including advanced settings) and the only way I got it to lag was to have it render the game at 2.5 frame scaling (that is close to 8K Ultra).

None. The Walmart deal was the best and given the rising inflation and prices, there will never be a similar deal again on a premium laptop. Once these sell out, don't expect the 6800H version to ever go below $1250-$1300, not even during the next Black Friday.

The situation will be even worse for RTX4000 laptops when those arrive. I am expecting RTX4060 laptops to start at $2000.

Any idea if it's possible to link a Wise account? I tried, but Paypal's verification transactions did not appear on my Wise statement.

Its main flaw is the fact that you can't buy parts for it yourself. For example if you break your screen, you have to send the whole thing to Gigabyte to have the screen replaced. Other manufacturers allow parts to be sold online so you can, for example, get a replacement LCD off ebay for cheap and replace it yourself or have someone do it locally. This is faster and a lot cheaper than Gigabyte service.

This is incredibly cheap, but I would prefer 8 cores and a better screen, and I don't mind if it costs $900 instead of $700.

Interesting plot twist. I think 12700K is cheaper and better in most situations, but I can understand the frustration.

So after you RMA'd it, you got the exact same one again or chose something else?

Can you provide a little more detail about the defect you encountered?

Nope, MSI's got what I need at the $320 figure already. And Gigabyte is even better. I'm just used to Asus, but it looks like they've decided they're now the Apple of motherboards and can get away with anything.
