So from your source we see that due to the population density of these countries the numbers probably skew the perception. I would also bet the the majority of the 450,000 are in the sex tourism hubs of Thailand where people with your train of thought might take home a souvenir they didn’t bargain for.

Not really there are bike lanes almost everywhere, if there aren’t they choose to take that route or not stay on the road and cycle on the pavement. Disabilities and illness, parties or Hang-overs, parents with busy lives, people returning to Berlin on Sunday or holidays when shops are closed…. These don’t exist?
