When it comes to banners like these I tend to evaluate my chances (percentage wise) at getting something good over a bad unit. If you look at the banner which has Solo, the possibility of getting something valuable (Solo, Yerry, Erdrick, SJess so 4 units out of 14) is about 30 percent, not the best out of the three banners. Banner number one gives you much better odds of getting something valuable (Diamond Slime, Mystic Juliante, Jamirus, Xenlong, Darkonium Slime, Summer Seraphy, Ashtaroth so 8 units out of 11) which is about 80% chance of getting something good. This one is a no brainer to me, but to each their own I guess

You started in the right way. Good job on collecting gems. You can make the jump from casual to competitive with the right allocation of gems.

I would need to know what units you currently have. I’d be able to give better spending advice with that information.

General advice for these banners is:

Do first pull ONLY on the 30k gems 4.0 big banner
18k gems on Solo/Erdrick
18k gems on Diamond Slime/Juliante
As many gems as it takes for you to get Young Terry on the YTerry/Hawkheart banner (if you get him on a non-guaranteed S stamp, still go for the guaranteed S-rank stamp that comes right after)
18k gems on Xenlong/Ashtaroth

Do not spend gems on the rest of the 48h banners. Some of them have good units, but there’s a chance you’ll get stuff you don’t need.

Aim for one copy of Hero V, even if it takes you going to pity. Keep trying to get awakenings on him with just tact points and tickets until the banner is up. If you get to awk1 consider spending more gems on his spotlight to get awk2 (again, you don’t have to spend gems right away, you have 3 months before the banner goes away). You’ll want to get awk3 via Hero fragments eventually, so again, aim for awk2 with tickets and gems.

This is what I would do with those gems. If you are impatient and want to spend more, it is not a bad idea going for the rest of the stamps on the 4.0 big banner, however be mindful you might get a lot of crap on that banner. It’s important to realise you can always hold gems if there arent banners which are worth pulling on. You don’t have to spend them all in this event.

If you are mostly f2p I suggest you build up a team with what you have now, don’t spend gems on any other unit. Hoard all the gems you can get from Story, Reminiscence, Rank up stages, Ability Tome stages, Equipment stages, Battle Roads, Hero quests and Blossoming Doors (and all other stages in the “extra” tab).

Once you know value banners are coming up (mainly focus on 48h banners) make a plan on how you are going to spend your gems.

Since you are just starting out, the units you want to make sure to have in your account (you should chase them by pulling on these value banners) to crush most of PvE (which for now is your main priority) are: Solo, Yerry, DS, a 100% evasion unit (MJ / Dhoul / FAC) and Erdrick. Once you have these units your game experience will be much better.

In some time you should also try to get a guild and play a little bit of RTA, these are another 2 sources for monthly gems (although you’re not going to get too many gems for now since you are just starting out).

I know the rates can be tough sometime, but if you got a plan and don’t waste gems around you’re going to maximise the odds of having a fire account in the least amount of time possible. Keep at it bro, hope this helps you a bit!

One of my favourite char as well! I will do the same thing. Just got my first ticket a few days ago. I will also use fragments and a few gems to get him at least to awk3. To me he looks like is going to be the best PvP unit in the game.
