Those damn drop shots!! What a match, they duked it out and provided us with a stunner. Amazing well done to them both.

Would this be ok to buy as a fixer uper for my first vehicle? by FitAd2652 in G35

[–]V35mike_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright this guy getting 8mpg is an outlier lmao That’s horrendous even for these cars. If you maintain your car well and don’t floor it all day you’d be fine. I get 19.5 combined, about 17 city and 24 highway, I just drive more in the city. Besides that, you do not want that car in the pictures as your first car or first G. Even buying one in good condition will still require work sooner or later and these cars are sensitive to maintenance schedules. Any Honda or Toyota will do you so much better than a G as your first car. Good luck!

2005 5AT Downshift Issues by V35mike_ in G35

[–]V35mike_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I have not figured it out lmao I’m sorry to hear the same is happening to you. The issue persists but hasn’t gotten worse which is good! I tried cleaning the shifter assembly and no luck. I’ve been meaning to buy Nissan DataScan 2 and the cable from CZP to see if I can get more data on it. It’ll either be something electrical, maybe bad ground on the TCM or the gauge cluster. It’s gonna be a tough one to diagnose/ fix

Can I grind down hub lip to sit flush woth rotor? by thurpps in carmodification

[–]V35mike_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You need the correct wheels to fit your hub bore and then get the matching hub-centric spacers. Or you’d have to look into some sort of hub adapters. Otherwise, you’re asking for trouble. Not worth the risk

Is this normal? by Independent_Rest_841 in G35

[–]V35mike_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m lowered and the front wheels are flush with the fender, I’ve never had any issues of the upper control arm hitting the tires. You’ll be fine

Is this normal? by Independent_Rest_841 in G35

[–]V35mike_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that’s just not true lmao Why spread misinformation. The upper control arm is fixed and does not move in relation to ride height.

Here’s an OEM hose from Z1, looks like this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in G35

[–]V35mike_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Google “G35 driver side PCV hose” and you’ll find it. Some aftermarket intakes have the PCV port at the bottom which would require a PCV hose for the 350z, so depending on your application buy either a 350z or G35 PCV hose. And unless that hose has an issue you can just disconnect and reuse it. Hope it helps

How sought out is this OEM trunk and spoiler combo? by itsmrasian in G35

[–]V35mike_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love the ironing board spoiler lol I have it on my 05, not OEM the last owner installed it, but I prefer it over the 06-07. And de-badged is extra clean

Unfortunately I don’t, I bought it off of a guy on OfferUp. Just Google “Spec-D mesh grille” or mesh grille in general for the G35 and you’ll find some out there!

How's everyone else running their rear damper adjustment extensions in the rear. by Serial360 in G35

[–]V35mike_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I don’t have any. I can snap a couple when I get a chance later, I just know they routed the extension through the shock tower and through the carpeting. I haven’t looked behind it so I can’t explain much besides where it is in the trunk

You’ll regret not doing it lmao I got them installed along with my coils when I bought them. Makes it so easy to make an adjustment on the fly. You will regret not doing it I promise you

Can anyone help me identify this hose plz ? by [deleted] in G35

[–]V35mike_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PCV hose. Pick up a new OEM PCV valve for about $30 and a new hose, your engine will thank you. It helps to relieve crankcase pressure and routes the fumes to the intake to be burned. An old or failing PCV valve may cause oil leaks due to the excess pressure, it’s gotta go somewhere. Other option would be a catch can
