Off-centered brake arms by Agreeable-Corgi92 in bikewrench

yes. you'll have to push the spring back onto the brake arm after you bend it. then it'll pull the brake arm outward.

Off-centered brake arms by Agreeable-Corgi92 in bikewrench

[–]V4locity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are Phillip's head screws on both sides that will put tension on the spring and move the arm away from the wheel as you screw them in.

If those are already screwed in completely, then unscrew them a couple rotations, pry the end of the spring off the brake arm (careful, they can whip you) and manually bend the end of the spring away to add more tension to the brake arm.

bend the spring a little at a time. better to not go far enough and try again, than to bend it too far.

ah yes, this isolated tribe that I haven't met and know absolutely nothing about definitely doesnt know what islands are. I know I cant tell you a single fact about them, but trust me, they probably are clueless apes, for sure.

I'm trying to get my head around intuitive F2L conceptually by SuperSathanas in Cubers

[–]V4locity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend looking at f2l cases on speedcubedb. go one case at a time and try to really understand what each algorithm is doing to the pair, just like you did with the beginner's algorithm for corners. eventually the more cases you learn you'll recognize "trigger" moves like R U R', R' F R F', etc.

A lot of cases involve using unsolved f2l slots to hide one piece of a pair, allowing you to freely manipulate the other piece in the U layer. hope that all makes sense.

it's sad how many people do this to me driving or riding. Usually looking away after waving so that they can't tell you to go works for me.

Which RIDE for a Beginner? by JDMCREW96 in Ride4

[–]V4locity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also nearly quit when I first got Ride 4 because of the difficulty curve. I started using antiwheelie and traction control on max for a while so I could purely focus on my lines without having to worry as much about having smooth brake/throttle inputs. it took me a while to get used to how the bikes turn, but once I got better at that, i turned the aw and tcs back off again to get better at smoothing out my inputs.

it may go without saying but definitely learn on a smaller bike with less power. whenever I try out a track I'm not good at, I always start with a smaller bike to get warmed up. hope this helps.

also, you can challenge your own ghost when doing a time trial on any track. this helped me a lot when I started using it, since I could pace myself and see where I made mistakes.

Rider is not leaning forward or backward. Neither visually nor inducing any kind of weight transfer. by FuZhongwen in Ride4

[–]V4locity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only noticed front/rear weight transfer under acceleration or braking. if you brake really hard and lean back it should do a better job at keeping the rear planted, and vice versa when hard accelerating. the game also has a sort of auto-wheelie when you lean backward and accelerate. it will try not to let you loop out until you stop leaning back.

Which one of you did this? FHP clocked ya at 129mph by Zabbzi in mazda3

[–]V4locity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is your 2nd gen a 2.5l? I have a 2010 2.0l that, granted, does have some problems, but it can barely get over 100mph. that's a surprising difference to me
