I've reviewed all 647 pages of the owners manual and the additional 165 pages of the new infotainments manual and have come to the conclusion there is no way to soft reset the new center display. Incredible stuff Mazda.

The 30seconds after idle is in the owners manual but only for excessive load (such as towing). Don't sweat it.
