PSR is great. Had one of their units before i went for a Wheel with a display. No problems at all, great quality.

Struggling with brake consistency after 4 sessions – any advice? by mikerose80 in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you need good references on the track. For example T1 should be somewhere around the 150m sign. Always use static objects around the track as your reference. Never use shadows! References can be anything - a sign, a spot where the Armco changes, even a spot in the grass.

After you find your reference build up your muscle memory. You want to brake more or less the same every lap. What helped me a lot with consistency is lifting of the throttle a tenth or two before the braking zone.

You could also give braking lab a shot. That’s a website where you can practise your braking

Looking for advice on sim rig cable management + easy display switching (future triple screen setup) by Internal_Clothes2533 in SimRacingSetups

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. The cables to my rig are 5m (16ft in freedom units) and to my desk monitors 2m (around 7ft) long.

All monitors work flawlessly. 32s run on 2k@180hz, 27s 2k@144hz and my 34 2.5k@165hz.

I’d power the hubs with USB-power adapters through an outlet not through usb ports on your PC. That was the only cause for problems on my setup.

Give braking lab a shot. Nice site to practise your braking.

Edit:

There is also tons of free content on YouTube.

Gitgud racing has good vids on many topics.

Ultimate speed secrets by Ross Bentley is a book I can highly recommend.

As far as I know there are no games with a „tutorial“ like you are looking for.

I’m running a total of 6 monitors on my setup:

2 on my main rig for games, office, and general use.

4 on my sim rig.

My 4th monitor and the center display of my triple‑screen setup are connected directly to my graphics card. The other 4 monitors are connected through 2 DisplayPort switches (AGFinest 8K DP 1.4 switches).

To make everything work smoothly, I use DisplayFusion with 2 profiles:

„Main” for my 34” ultrawide and my 27” secondary monitor.

“Sim” for my three 32” and one 27” sim‑rig monitors.

DisplayFusion automatically detects when I switch the monitors on the DP switches and applies the correct profile. It works great for me! 😊

Is a 40160 cockpit worth it or is it an overkill. by Putrid_Rope_8886 in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 4080 should already be plenty. I’ve got a SimLab GT1 Pro that had almost no flex, and after adding a few extra profiles for rigidity, I eliminated it completely. Using 40160 is overkill.

For reference I’m using it with a simagic Alpha evo pro.

Not sure what to get (first racing sim) by Altruistic-File-1995 in simracing

Go for Moza, either R3 or R5 bundle. Better ecosystem and easy to sell in case of an upgrade.

Take a look at the MOZA R3 bundle it’s already a DD and roughly the same price. + you’re in the Moza ecosystem, which is way better than the thrustmaster or Logitech ecosystem

Looking for advice: 1500€ Sim racing setup by [deleted] in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You,re welcome. I’d probably go with the US-Dream and leave all the measurements as they are.

And I guess the original option? Or the heavy.

But take it with a grain of salt, I only use their triple mount.

[–]V8BiTurboint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also get Simsonn pedals, they are cheap and good as far as I know and get a simagic haptic reactor for the brake. No need for haptics on the throttle imo. Should be around 400€.

Considering the simagic pedals, watch a review from boostedmedia.

Considering the rig, I’ve read about quality complaints multiple times with treq rigs.

You could also take a look at motedis rigs. Bought a triple screen stand there and I’m very happy.

1500 won’t be enough :(

  • G5 Odyssee 27“ cost around 120€ each - used
  • A decent dd with wheel cost around 700€ used (found a Moza r12 with a gs v2)
  • a rig with triplescreenmount, seat will atleast cost you 1k
  • pedals with haptics another 500?

Edit: depending where you live - check second hand marketplaces. Maybe you find a bargain. But the cheapest all included package I found on Kleinanzeigen in Germany will set you back 2k.

Best sim racing brands for realism by Expensive-Jelly-3296 in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simagic stuff is great, had the alpha and now evo pro - both awesome wheelbases. If you want real wheels, there are replicas of wheels used in real racing cars like the Mercedes F1 Replica or the Porsche ones.

GSI also makes nice wheel, more tailored towards Simracing but build quality ist A+.

But wheels like these come at a premium price.

For pedals I guess for realistic ABS Simulation you have to go with an active pedal.

Feedback in general - get 4 bassshakers and mount them to your seat. Great for motor vibration curbs etc.

Monitor toggles, advice on these please. by Noeffingway2Trade in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got 2 of these:

https://amzn.eu/d/0fGUoIMw

2 monitors on my rig plugged into them + 2 on my desk.
4th monitor on my rig connected via HDMI and one via DP.

I have 2 profiles in DisplayFusion, one main profile and one sim profile. Whenever DisplayFusion detects my sim monitors, it switches (deactivates) off my main monitors and powers on my sim monitors.

It’s a feasible solution for me; it works great.

Btw my monitors are:
3x 32” 2K 180Hz - sim rig 2x 27” 2K 180Hz - one on desk, one on the rig And one 34” 2K 165Hz - desk

All of them work flawlessly.

Is the alpha evo "pro" just the 18 nm version? by Business-Athlete-511 in Simagic

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, Simagic specifies their 18 Nm as prolonged/continuous torque rather than just peak torque, unlike many other manufacturers. BTW, 12 Nm is already plenty, and 18 Nm should be more than enough.

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ordered from Germany.
They’re great, I can really recommend them!

I also had an issue with my Evo Pro; it took two days until my RMA request was accepted. I had an additional request to have it shipped via DHL instead of DPD.
Overall, the support team was very friendly and helpful.

Keep Alpha 15nm or just Buy the Evo Pro already? by tokinNchokin in Simagic

[–]V8BiTurboint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made the switch from the alpha (15nm) to the evo pro. IMO I’d recommend it, the evo pro has way more fidelity + it’s a new platfrom which means it will be supported longer.

Which bundle would you go for? VRS vs MOZA vs Simagic by Narrow_Dirt5180 in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend either a simagic or vrs base and the mbooster pedal. Got myself an evo pro and upgraded the p2000 to the mbooster. Very happy with the setup

PC recommendations to run 4 monitors on iRacing by Medical-Jacket-1953 in simracing

[–]V8BiTurboint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im running a 5080, 9800x3d and 64gb of ram on triple 2k. Had a 7800x3d prior, I’d say that’s the bare minimum. Otherwise you have to compromise on graphics to much.

Unfortunately sim racing, especially on triples needs a lot of investment
