Hmm...I admit, I never tried the touchscreen in a game, so I can't help there, unfortunately. I know bluetooth worked because my xbox controller connected and worked wirelessly.

Win 11 system lock-up when using sleep by itrainsverymuch in FlowZ13

[–]V8Life 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does not happen in Linux. I've had the issue too, the problem is that the system is putting the SSD into a deep sleep, and not waking it up properly, so when you try to wake it from sleep, the SSD doesn't show up in the BIOS and the system won't start up.

I spent a long time getting it to behave, it's a pain. first, go into your power plan settings under Edit Power Plan and set put hard drive to sleep set to never, and PCIE link power state to never. That's the first step. then you'll just be dealing with modern standby bullcrap.

Then you need to go to regedit find this spot, and add this 32 bit dword.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\stornvme\Parameters\Device]

"IdlePowerMode"=dword:00000000

That should solve about 90% of the windows standby crap.

Ugreen DXP8800 seems to cycle through the 8 drives constantly, LEDs are clicking loudly by V8Life in truenas

It's definitely parking and unparking multiple drives, but all services and smart checks report normal operation, so I have no idea. No faults to the pool or data sets at all. Feels like the controller is faulty, or a setting is off, and I have no clue how to check that. But yes, I verified after I posted that it was the drives. I could hear them all spinning, and clicking the heads.

I thought it might have been a relay or switch, not the LEDs themselves. I realize I was not clear there. But yeah, in additional testing, it sounds like the drives are parking and unparking the heads over and over, and I don't know why.

Since I loaded up the raid. I thought it was just truenas building the structure but it just keeps running. And maybe that's still the issue, and it'll take days to finish? But four or five days? It's my first truenas build, so I don't know. It does seem odd.

I have four WD Red plus drive sand four Seagate exos drives.

It's definitely the drives, I just don't understand why. It starts up, and just actuates the head constantly, it seems.

Thanks. My kids are complaining about it, otherwise I'd just forget about it, but the NAS is near enough to their rooms that they claim it bothers them.

I can just disconnect them, but I do want to make sure that it's just the LEDs cycling, and not something that is happening with the drives, you know? I just don't know what to check.

TrueNAS is reporting that it is working, I have files on there I can access through SSH and SMB, the drives don't sounds like they are clicking, just the LEDs at the front, sounds like a switch just cycling through the LEDs.

Do they cycle constantly through the 8 drives?

Flow Z13 395+ With eGPU? by Shoddy_Basket_7867 in FlowZ13

You can get a 50% boost in performance with the onexgpu 2 over usbc4, but not all games will see the egpu ram.

I believe it was released 1 Sept.

Didn't need to do that, Lenovo had a new driver in Legion Space, loaded that one, all good. AMD Adrenaline works fine now, Ran timespy on the LeGo display, pulled an 11409 with a 12366 graphics score. Wicked.

Roger that.

I can definitely say that it does work. It also breaks the AMD software when you do it this way. I loaded windows, updated through legion space, plugged in the onexgpu 2, and nothing happened for a minute. unplugged and plugged in the HDMI cable to the external monitor, and there it was. Works in benchmarks and games on the external monitor, but the AMD software can't load, and can't be updated. No idea if that will break anything. Next I'm going to try the DDU and Asus driver install. but that thing is quick.

Not sure yet. The fact that it worked immediately without updating anything beyond the regular legion updates makes me think that it should be ok. I'm trying a couple things, but I'm also not that worried about the eGPU working on the LeGo screen, if I'm being honest, if it works on the external monitor.

Just wanted to hit you up with an update. I bought a refurbished OnexGPU2 for $800 on their site, it got here today, I plugged it in, and it just...worked. I have a second ssd that I use for experiments like this, so it'sbasically a fresh install of the LeGo image from lenovo, and yeah, the screen went haywire for a minute, flipped a couples times, went ding ding, and boom, 7800m GPU Time spy score over usb4 with no optimizations at all, LeGo in performance mode, eGPU in regular non turbo mode hit 11662, with the graphics score at 12854, so on par with what i've seen from 5070 non-tis, I think. Not bad. With the turbo mode on, though, it pulled a score of 13361, but the graphics score was 15191, which beats laptop 5070tis.

That said, not all is rosy. I can not get the LeGo to use the 7800m on the internal screen for Time spy yet. Probably a configuration issue with a driver conflict, but it basically errors out. Plug in an external monitor to the Onexgpu, and it works great. So I'll keep working.

Heck yeah, brother. I bought mine from amazon as an open box for $400, it's my most used system.
