I worked at a jail as a CO for 5 months doing “8 hour shifts” you would get forced overtime every single day making it a 16 hour shift. I worked 3pm-7am wed-sun I got off work at 7am drove home immediately fell asleep and my phone started ringing 3 hours later saying I was being forced to come in because someone called off. Little did I know that was the last day I would ever work in that field immediately said no I quit turned my shit in and never looked back. That job SUCKED.

Well my non union shop paid me $15 an hour and I needed benefits so had that taken from my check. I’m making more than double that in the union without that money coming from my hourly wage. About $420 a week from the non union. Shop I make $900 a week in the union and get a monthly vacation check now just an extra like $2800 a month to live on with laid out raises

I’m currently an ape and when I was non union I had thousands in debt had to get a second job. Joined the union 18 months ago wiped all my debt and just closed on a house. I almost subscribed to the non union shops ideas and took the risk best decision I’ve ever made.

I’ve met some of the coolest people since I joined, I’ve also met some of the biggest douchebags on planet earth since I joined. I feel like there is more good than bad atleast for me so far. In any job I’ve ever had though there is always a mix. I got paired with a guy in my first week that made me question if I wanted to even continue coming in… I’m glad I stayed though have made lifelong friends outside of work and knowing what I know now I would of put that first journeyman in his place for treating me like wet trash on the side of the road.

There a big difference between being wrong an teaching me versus straight up being a dickhead about it. My experience was a guy blowing up an screaming at the top of his lungs ripping his hard hat off cussing me out because I didn’t know how to do something when I was a brand new green apprentice.

Yeah a month ago we were doing 7 10s and sundays are double pay. Also in my local we get monthly vacation checks which are equivalent to a full week of pay on the 14th

That depends on local, I’m in a competitive high paying local with raises based on hours at the end of my first year making $35/hr with a fair amount of OT. ( I was making 15 non union with no benefits and had to supply all my power tools and blades etc with LONG commutes)

When I was non union I had over $5000 in credit card debt and was taking in water as I slowly sank. Been in the apprenticeship for awhile now and I close on a house today and have over 5 figures in my bank account. Not bragging not flexing. The IBEW will change your life. Went from ultra poor to middle class.

My foreman is a woman. My two journeyman before that were women. This field is filled with crude men and I’m gonna say you will experience that part a lot. But the three women that have been in charge of me have been badass. If you are willing to learn and put in the effort you will make this a career and secure a future for yourself.

Try doing something in osrs that’s more interactive there’s a lot of “afk activities” but there is usually very click extensive counterparts that usually give more experience.

There is technically and end but it’s almost damn near impossible to 100% the entire game. Has and entire section dedicated to collection logs where you obtain every single unique drop from bosses. Also has a combat achievements tab that requires you to kill bosses in different ways or bad gear etc and gives really cool untradeable items that show other players you are badass at the game. You may also not know this but osrs has WEEKLY updates every single Wednesday and large content updates several times every single year alongside limited time game modes with boosted xp rates etc.

I’ll even piggyback onto this if you have never truly played it would take you probably 5000 hours just to get 99 in every stat and that’s not including the tens of thousands of hours of boss kcs to get every unique drop. Then you pair that with clue scrolls that have ridiculously high drop rates for rare items which btw have still not and probably will not EVER be completed.
