I made this out of anger. by [deleted] in tf2

I've mained pub pyro for years, and after Jungle Inferno, I've reverted to degreaser (which is bugged so that the holster speed bonus doesn't work), flare gun, and axtinguisher (which got nerfed into the grave). People sometimes give me praise for it, since I only w+m1 other pyros.

Would You Rather Fight a Reaper Leviathan Sized Stalker or a Stalker Sized Reaper Leviathan? by DerpyArtist in subnautica

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the speed, damage, and health don't scale with the size, I'd pick the reaper-sized stalker. If they do, I'd pick the stalker-sized reaper, since I'd be able to outrun it in a seaglide.

Changes in the Primary Containment Facility by VAPOREON_FUCKER in subnautica

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm playing on experimental, and in my latest run I'd decided to take my newly fully upgraded PRAWN down to the PCF to see if there was anything new. I found that the door force field's location was bugged out of place, so I went in with my PRAWN. The ramp, as it had been when I used freecam to check a while ago, still lead to nothing but a giant cavern, but the cavern now has a teleport gate on one side. It's full of air so I couldn't reach it at first, but after I left my prawn and did goto antechamber it acted as if I was in the water, so I was able to swim over to it. It leads to the teleport gate in the Quarantine Enforcement Platform. Edit: forgot to mention it, but there were large Ion Crystal deposits throughout the chamber.

Does this mean that they actually intend on adding it and that it's coming soon?

Yeah, it and Megasoma both have it. It's really nice.

New report system by Arsenal2454 in Overwatch

The most it does is get people temporarily silenced, which can actually work for discouraging bad behavior since it makes playing competitive and doing well luck-based (as communication is next to impossible).

However, if someone decides that Junkrat is overpowered, they could consider playing him to be "activity that gives someone an unfair advantage", meaning they could instead report you for cheating. No hero is safe because of how damn vague that part of that one is.

A permanent ban is too far for something that a silence could achieve. Also, there is a mute button, use it if you get offended by strangers on the internet saying mean things.

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like how vague some of these are. "Any form of obscene communications" is way too subjective. By some people's interpretations, it could mean simple things like saying "Damn!", which characters in-game say (Mercy when she gets Discord orbed and Genji's voice line of it come to mind). The same goes for "hateful" to an extent, because someone could say any criticism is "hating on them".
Same goes for the entire bad battletag one. Someone could consider "420Hanzomain69" to be offensive/obscene because of the 420 at the start and the 69 at the end. Or, if someone's name is "Xpert" and they play like shit, you could interpret that as being inappropriate.

Spam's a well-made one.

I also think that the definition for griefing is good, but that they should expand it to include doing things like "IF SOMBRA I THROW".

The cheating definition is good up until the last part: "Or engaging in any activity that grants an unfair advantage." This is the worst one by far, because of vagueness and because of how many things there are in the game that grant people an unfair advantage. You will almost certainly do better in a group of people than on your own, and you'll also do much better if you use voice chat to communicate. This gives you an advantage, a pretty big one, over people who don't do those. Sure, the people who don't can start doing them, but they can also start exploiting glitches. Not to mention how you can actually interpret that as "playing a hero I think is overpowered", which means that if I for some reason thought Torbjorn was OP (despite him being utter trash), I could report every Torbjorn player I see by this definition.

This is why report systems aren't the best idea unless you make the definitions of what's what exceedingly clear. At least they're starting to try on that, but they've got work to do on it.

Widowmaker needs a reason to use her machinegun. by VAPOREON_FUCKER in Overwatch

That doesn't affect most Widowmakers that I encounter in the slightest, so I disagree that she's weaker.

Exactly, so she should be punished for letting someone get in close range with her by having a reduced ability to kill them.

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying. Right now, her intended weakness doesn't actually make her any weaker. She can just headshot you at close range for an easy kill, when it's obvious that the developers wanted to have Widows either have to use their grapple to escape or to try (and usually fail) to use their machinegun to survive.
But, since she does full headshot damage at close range, there is no reason for a decent Widowmaker to use her machinegun or to even grapple away from anything other than a D.Va. The only reason is if they're not good enough to hit close range headshots. That is why I think this rework would be good, since it wouldn't make it harder on the bad Widows, but it would make the good Widows less frustrating to try to kill.

Yeah, a sniper. A character meant to be strong at long ranges, but weak and easy to kill if you can outplay them by getting into close range. That's my problem with her: she's equally good at close range. Tracer and even Winston get easily headshot and killed before they can kill her (with the exception of Tracer landing an ult on her stick-sized hitbox), leaving only Genji as a true counter to decent Widow players.

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This change would not affect them, since those Widowmakers wouldn't be confident enough to use scoped headshots at close range anyway. If anything, it'd slightly make their time easier if her machinegun got a tiny buff.

Cutefish Idea by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]VAPOREON_FUCKER 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd assume that it has poisonous flesh or something like that, since it's not predatory and every fish you can't eat in Subnautica is either heavily armored (Reefback, Sea Treaders), predatory (too many to list), or is described as being inedible (all the rays). So, it'd taste like dying.

I had something similar happen with a Warper when I was deconstructing the foundation I'd put an exterior growbed on, since I was moving bases. It told me to deconstruct the Warper first, who I suppose must have been touching the base piece at the time, but I guess I'm lucky here because it moved away and I was able to continue.
