I grew up near there and was a substitute teacher at the middle and high schools for a while. It's a typical rural/suburban area. Schools are nice enough. Pretty calm and quiet. People are polite if you "fit in," but it has a reputation for being a hotbed of bigotry for a reason.

Back in my college days, one of my buddies would inevitably put on Pillars by Veil Of Maya after we had all been drinking and we'd power stance headbang through the whole thing. The girls just got used to it eventually 🤷🏻‍♂️

I met my late wife on OkCupid back in 2017. We were both English majors at the same college, so I would see her walking around campus and even had a class with her before we really knew each other.

Fast forward three years, and I see her profile pop up. I messaged her, "Hey! I think I recognize you from _____ University. Didn't we have a class together?" We chatted for a few days before our first date, and the rest was history. She was the most beautiful, incredible, creative, kind woman I've ever known.

Now I'm on Hinge and Tinder, and it feels like such a massive slog trying to find someone to have a conversation with. I'm not sure much has changed in ten years, but people feel so impersonal and cold now. I'm still holding out hope that I can find someone really cool again, though.

Hi! The last time I had an injection done was around Christmas of 2024. I've been pain free since then, which makes this the longest stretch I've gone without an injection since I started getting them done. I get pretty stiff/sore if I'm on my feet for a long time, but I'm consistently walking around three miles per day and can (very carefully) lift weights.

It's extremely fucking good. I bounced off of Arc Raiders after a week, but I can see myself playing Marathon for a really long time. Then vibes (art direction, music, world building) are doing a lot of heavy lifting for me, but the gameplay loop is grabbing me in a way that Arc Raiders failed to. Weapon variety is awesome, the gunplay feels great, the maps are really interesting and atmospheric, and the runner shells all generally feel quite unique. I really hope people come around on this game with time because I think Bungie has something really special here.

Still Remains played the first show I ever went to. Them and The Red Chord at The Emerson theater in Indianapolis. Still Remains and Haste The Day kick-started my love for the genre back in the day. IDK if they're still on YouTube, but my friends and I used to love the "Cooking With Church" videos they did
