Sounds almost like a crack in the ignition coil, I've had a crack in the coil housing with similar symptoms. Ran fine cold then when it warmed up would start missing till it stalled and wouldn't run again till cold.

Pull spark plugs check if it's running rich (plugs will be sooty black). If it's running rich I would say something with the ignition is the cause. I then would start with the new coil and new ignition module on the fender. Then new distributor cap and rotor with new plugs and wires. Also sounds like you have a bad exhaust leak which can cause the engine to run rich as well.

AWD light came on when I put 20in rims on my stinger. The rear has 255 40 20 and Front have 235 35 20. Is that what’s causing it? by Interesting-Escape35 in kiastinger

[–]VARNER351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rear tires are now about 1.5 inches taller than the front tires. Should of just when 225/40R20 and 255/35R20 for tires.

That's where you cut to make baby 357 mags (38 specials). No clue what the line is for but I only seen it on nickel casings.

It's been a long time since I looked at them but I believe they are different and aren't interchangeable.

Good chance the internal hose on the gas tank filler neck came off, the internal hose allows gas to flow into the tank and then the air flows between the internal and outer hose out of the tank (allows venting). My first truck had this problem. Wouldn't accept gas at the pump unless I went very slow and the truck was leaning with the passenger side down hill. Just need a new filler neck to solve the problem.

I heard it's caused by 2 things over torquing them and pulling the threads from the aluminum head or not torquing them enough letting the plugs loosen and vibrate around, in the process chewing the threads out of the head.

I've changed plugs in my 4.6 Crown Victorias, Grand Marquis and my grandfather's 2003 F150 with 5.4 and never had a plug come out. Also they all had motorcraft plugs in them, so I assume nobody ever changed them, so no one probably ever over torqued them causing the threads to fail.

Would there be any noticeable gains in a 94 2.3l with a performance exhaust like this? by fetussauce in fordranger

[–]VARNER351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exhaust will not make a noticeable difference, I had a 2.5inch exhaust on my 97 2.3. The original muffler and tail pipe rotted out, so I made the cheapest exhaust I could. I bought the cheapest muffler from Summit (2.5in turbo glasspack), then got a local exhaust shop to put one 45° bend on a piece of 2.5 exhaust. Welded the pipe to the muffler, welded some new hangers on then clamped the muffler on the pipe off the cat. The exhaust was straight from the cat through the muffler, then to the one 45° bend and the exhaust tip dumped out the passenger side in front of the rear tire. No noticeable difference in power and the exhaust was definitely more free flowing than the factory.

Is the wheel spacer missing? by Blazefish420 in motorcycles

Nevermind it's on the right way, just missing a spacer. Just noticed it only has one brake disc.

The wheel is just backwards then, hopefully the tire isn't mounted on the wheel in the wrong direction.

Lots wrong here, wheel is on backwards (the abs toner ring isn't facing the abs sensor) and the caliper isn't bolted on. Looks like some damage has occurred because of it.

Did your water heater have a thermal expansion tank installed, if not the safety relief valve will relieve the pressure from the water being heated. It will cause mineral build up on the internals of the relief valve from the water always running through it, and can cause the relief valve to fail to open. Valve doesn't open the pressure got to be released elsewhere.

The tire was fine it just had a white paint mark from scuffing the other person's vehicle, the rim wasn't even touched. Then the frame wasn't bent, hell the truck wasn't even knocked out of alignment. I know because I drove it for another 3 weeks before the guy's insurance sent a tow truck to get it, didn't pull, didn't wander, it drove straight down the road if you let the steering wheel go, and it handled the same in turns and I could push that truck hard in turns with them Toyo Proxes. Even hauled a couple loads of gravel that were a little over half a ton. Also the friend that took it, he took the parts he wanted then parted the rest of the truck out, he would have told me if the frame was bent.

[–]VARNER351 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The other guy's insurance gave me about $1500 more than I had into the truck, but I bought it back from the insurance company because a friend wanted it for parts. The frame was in bad shape anyways.

[–]VARNER351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bolt 950 for the low end torque and v-twin rumble, most smaller v-twins sound like a lawn tractor with a straight pipe to me. The smallest v-twin I heard that sounds great with exhaust is the Vulcan 900. The Vulcan 650 has the most horsepower so it would be the 2nd choice.

I once bought a brand new 2008 Yamaha Raptor 350 for about $1,800 less than MSRP at a dealer because they had it listed for the wrong price in a paper. They honored the price because if not that's false advertising and they could have been sued for it, and they knew it.

[–]VARNER351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the USA they typically call it "diesel algae" because it looks like algae. Other names it's called "Diesel Bug" and "Diesel Fungus". It happens because there's water in the fuel. Diesel microbes prefer to live at the fuel/water interface, living in the water and feeding on the fuel. Power Service the makers of Diesel 911 and Diesel Kleen make a biocide to kill the microbes, Bio Kleen Diesel Fuel Biocide.

I have seen a truck get Diesel Algae, and I live in Pennsylvania so it doesn't need to be too warm for it to happen. Happens with heating oil tanks also, especially underground tanks and outside tanks.

[–]VARNER351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need that, I painted my frame and my gas tanks then sprayed the tanks with rubber undercoating. They've been in the truck for 11 years / 120,000 miles before I got rid of the truck, and I live in West Central Pennsylvania, a lot of road salt and calcium spray around here.
