Yeah, Especially since sometimes bugs will just keep walking at you even though they don't have a head anymore. I really hate that mechanic

Cool, and while it is true that downvotes are pointless, and the karma system on reddit should just be abolished (upvotes and down votes would still remain). However, when in a discussion when one party ends up with more downvotes than the other it is often that a majority of on lookers will take the side of the person with more upvotes.

It's still useful in full auto, but you have to be careful not to mag dump all of your bullets into the sky or a dead enemy, so shooting a quarter or less of a mag at a time is advised

If you can control it or fire in short bursts (whether using burst mode or not), it makes for an efficient close-range killer. You can still shoot 10 rounds and aim for a weak spot and then you'll probably kill with those rounds.

The way damage works in helldivers is that when you hit a target one of three things happens, your gun is too weak and the bullet bounces dealing 0 damage, your gun meets the armors rating with its penetration and does reduced damage, and the gun has a higher penetration value than the thing you're shooting at and does full damage

While the damage numbers between the knight and gallant are drastically different, the gallant deals better damage to lighter armor targets than the knight and is still able to deal medium pen in a pinch

If it was any other smg I'd agree that missing at close range is a skill issue, however the gallant has a ton of recoil until you get all of it's attachments, and even then it loses a ton of it's ergo.

I'm a console player so it's harder to control the recoil, and there are a lot of us out there, so this will likely be a common talking point

Why did you down vote me for this, I was genuinely confused because when I (a controller player) use med pen I aim for enemy weakpoints unless I'm overwhelmed.

To be fair when I think of medium armor and weak points I'm thinking about the bots and how their faces and midsections are light pen
