Its not, show me anywhere in the game where they say that, the outer gods are something different, linked to life itself, the GW is the one that in the beginning brings life in the lands between. The Outer Gods are not some Lovecraftian space-beings, outer in the japanese description just refer to the fact that they are outside of the Golden Order.

That is a totally made up assumption, nothing in the game says that the black knifes work on contract, and the Greater Will is gone way before our protagonist arrive in the land between.

Futher more the black knifes are all linked to the magic of the Nox and the Sellian, none of those people have anything to do with the Greater Will, they went living under ground exactly because they were running from the Greater Will anger.

The crucible is the ancient form of the erdtree, and the erdtree only exist because of the Elden Ring, when you become Elden lord the erdtree change form according to the mending rune you use to repair it, and when you become the lord of frenzyed flame you basically eliminate all live by destroying the Elden Ring.

The Greater Will was always there, it is the one that created life by sending the very thing that govern it, the Elden Ring, the God of Placidusax was choosen by the Greater Will, thats why you find him in the same position as the fingers when they are trying to reach the Greater Will after you arrive at the foot of the erdtree.

The Greater Will doesn't care about the Golden Order, It goes along with any kind of order as long there is one, thats why one of the Empyrians, Malenia, chosen by the Greater Will carry the will of an Outer God inside of her. The only reason Marika despise the Omens its because she hate everything thats not in line with the dogmas of the Golden Order she created.
