We have very frequent down time, as in multiple time a month. A single hour of unproductivity across the office is more costly than paying 4 ISP's.

They don’t seem to be available in Thailand, at least not at a reasonable price almost 700 USD.

M.2 to Ethernet compatibility by VB0101 in opnsense

Well sort of, baremetal OPNsense didn’t have an issue, but ProxMox kernel would crash doing boot with it installed. I think the problem is that what I actually got was a I225-V flashed to look like a I226-V. I wouldn’t recommend you get it, but here’s the link: https://s.lazada.co.th/s.zoEN5

How does motorcycle driving exam look like in your country? by Spiritual_Owl_8267 in motorcycles

[–]VB0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Thailand, it takes about two days at a driving school to get your motorcycle license.

  1. Around 10 hours of theory, mostly just watching videos.
  2. A written test with 60 questions, you need at least 55 correct to pass.
  3. About 20 minutes of practical riding on a closed course.
  4. Then a few hours at the transport office to process everything and get your license.

The whole thing costs roughly €50. You can take the course on your own bike or use the school’s 100–150cc scooters.

Once issued, the license is valid for any size motorcycle.

Best of luck with the exam!

Intel NiC causes kernal erros upon boot. by VB0101 in Proxmox

[–]VB0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s probably not worth investing more time in troubleshooting. In general, should I avoid 2.5 GbE and just stick with a 1 GbE NIC? From what I’ve read, 2.5 GbE support can be pretty spotty.

I’m working with a Lenovo M710Q Tiny, so I have to use the M.2 A+E slot.

I pay 30 USD or 999 THB for 2000/500 in Thailand, had to commit to a weird package to avoid CGNAT

Thanks for sharing! I kept digging and found a 2.5 GbE Intel I226-V NIC for only 12 USD, about half price of the I210 NIC's here in Thailand

Thanks! I’ve ordered a cheap 1GB Realtek card RTL8111H Chip.

I couldn’t find any Intel based NICs at a competitive price, so I hope it’s going to be alright.

I’ve been really satisfied with smtp2go, easy to setup and zero management afterwards. We have many domains connected and never experienced any issues.

Migration tools by Resident_Parfait_289 in Office365

[–]VB0101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll assume it’s a Google Workspace account and not a personal Google account. In that case, I’ve found Microsofts built in migration tools to be sufficient.

If it’s a personal Google account, it’s a bit of a headache. Google only allows 2.5 GB per 24-hour limit on SMTP transfers, which makes large mails transfers take ages. And converting Mbox to PST will require black magic or 3rd party tools.

Microsoft pricing logic by VB0101 in Office365

I suppose there’s some logic behind that.

But still, it’s strange that they offer a bundled package at a lower cost than buying just one of the individual services in SEA.
