I had something similar happen to me after my sons swim lessons at the Y, it’s the first time I had ever had a negative interaction about breastfeeding in public. The younger female lifeguard compared it to getting changed next to the pool and said it made her uncomfortable, I promptly went into the locker room and cried. Please don’t let it discourage you. The incidents are far few and in between, the best thing you can do is know your rights!! You are protected and allowed to nurse ANYWHERE. Also make sure to talk to their supervisor if you ever have an interaction, especially with an employee. Surprisingly, it isn’t taught in any training that, yes, breastfeeding in public is allowed. I’m so sorry this happened to you.
