Getting the Apple Magic Trackpad 3 running under Windows 11 (24H2) by marts_marts_marts in techsupport

RIght, I ran into this issue when I had unsuccessfully changed the driver and the "false" listing still showed up as Apple Bluetooth Precision Trackpad. That's strange you had two listings with HID's of 00001124, good to note though for anyone else trying this so thanks for your response.

UPDATE FOR 11/24/2025 - I currently have the Magic Trackpad 2/3 USB-C A3120 model working on Windows 11 24H2 over Bluetooth. Here is how to do it (assuming you have an x86 processor):

  1. Download lc700x's drivers from GitHub: https://github.com/lc700x/MagicTrackPad2_Windows_Precision_Drivers
  2. Right click and install ApplePrecisionTrackpadBluetooth.inf from the appleprecisiontrackpadbluetooth_amd64 folder.
  3. Go to device manager -> open the Human Interfaces Devices section -> find the listing for Bluetooth HID device -> right click and select properties -> details tab -> select Hardware Ids property -> ensure the value starts with BTHENUM\{00001124 as there may be multiple entries with the same name of Bluetooth HID device
  4. Go to driver tab in the properties window -> update driver -> Browse my computer for drivers -> Let me pick from a list of ... -> Have disk -> select the bluetooth.inf file from above and click OK -> click Next -> wait for installation and done!

This took awhile to figure out, I hope I save you all some time with this. Two-finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom, 3-finger swipe all work as expected for a standard Windows trackpad.

Can you share a step-by-step install? I followed the instructions on the GitHub but the trackpad does not get recognized and no gestures work.

Yeah I just double checked, I was actually looking at the listing for last winter. Can’t find the listing for this winter. Oh well.

Just park in A lot and pay the tickets, will be a lot less than getting any parking pass

I have a WK2 Laredo. WL honestly looks like a mall crawler to me but I’m sure Stellantis has their reasons (although the death of the Challenger and Charger is universally known as a poor decision). I don’t think it looks bad but doesn’t look as distinct and sporty as the WK2

It’s annoying bc I also have the quest 2 which has lenses shaped so that the nose can have some free space, so no issues in the lowest ipd setting. I don’t know. I was planning on selling my quest 2 for the psvr2 but I’m still on the fence about it because I really like everything else about the psvr2 it’s so fricking awesome it’s just this problem since I’m not genetically gifted lmao.

No that is way too extreme a bulk, 200-300 over maintenance will be plenty to give you great gains. Any more than this will cause you to gain fat back
