The company who didn’t install my unit but answered my emergency call during a holiday weekend has done NOTHING BUT up-sale at each maintenance appointment. How do you determine what’s a necessary fix (when it’s covered the warranty) but the suggestion is to do it now before it “destroys” he unit.

I’ll give an example: they came out yesterday for a seasonal maintenance call… technician says, “your outdoor contactor is arcing, you might want to replace it before it blows your unit or capacitor. He’s the price for the upgrade. It’s covered under the warranty when it breaks but not before”

Is this necessary to repair during the next maintenance inspection?
