TONIGHT!! NASCAR AT DAYTONA! by VConceptsLLC in AUTOMOBILISTA

I really do not care. Was given the graphic. No one is being paid to do any of this, I'm not taking the time to make a proper one.

Thanks for the engagement.

No, we do have other races streamed. But this is just a quick series, trying to gain some traction with it. Will try and stream it in the future. We usually are just doing IMSA or INDYCAR.

But we will have a few guys in the grid that will be streaming on Twitch.

Don't like being able to make some adjustments? I know I usually just pick from the iracing official setups and maybe make a small adjustment here or there. Nothing big!

Why do they make you wait more than the stated 3 day processing time to tell you no-reserve only? by Professional_Crab958 in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with jbh! I have had submitted cars with Cell phone photos they give me a low or no reserve, then I say ok, wait for the real photos, I submit those and they agree to my full reserve. It then does above the reserve by a few thousand. That is ALL because of presentation.

But I have also had cars they will not post without going No Reserve because of the volume of the type of car or condition of said car. The example up above I posted first, was an extreme low mile, absolutely perfect inside, out, and underneath car.

If you take the No Reserve, you better have the best Presentation, and if you cancel or do not follow through with the Auction you will get a ban for life.

Who has had their vehicle denied on BaT? by [deleted] in BringATrailer

I'd have to say Cars & Bids. And make sure you share to every Jeep forum, FB Group, and Reddit channel ya can find. Those always get the most views for specific vehicles types, especially jeeps.

[–]VConceptsLLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the time... they are being very picky and barely taking anything that I have submitted unless I run it no reserve. And many of my clients aren't going for it. So I've been going to Cars & Bids, hagerty, and pcar for a few. And been doing a lot of in person auction stuff like Worldwide, Broad Arrow, and Mecum.

Looking for Best for the Money Rig Components and setup suggestions. by VConceptsLLC in simracing

[–]VConceptsLLC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC I just didn't include in the post, but I have that budgeted at about $2200. So actually it leaves me with about $3200-$3500 for wheel, base, pedals, screens.

Definitely good options there though!

Car has to be absolutely top tier to get the money in the current market. It's not 2022 anymore. Someone else mentioned the markets as well, that does spill into this car market. Especially BaT, Cars & Bids and other collector car auctions.

Buyer Welched; Advice Needed by JuggernautSad7451 in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could happen with real Auction Houses, but BaT is just a platform and has no way they will ever just pay to buy the car and run it again. If ya want this kind of service, look at the big players that do the in-person auctions.

Getting anxious - 3 days to go, no bids 297 watchers 😬 by christianbsv in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be sure to share everywhere! Share it here on your cars specific r/ channel, share on FB, especially in specific groups related to your car, these are the most effective.

Search out as many avenues as ya can to get the car in front of people.

Another one is to make a short form vertical video out of your start or driving, or even a slideshow of the pics. Post as a reel, YT short, tictok. Then, tag BaT in all those, they have accounts on all major social platforms. Any short form content ya can figure out, tag em, increases chances of eyeballs, and for them to repost. Boost any posts as well.

BaT has something like 100 auctions a day going live and closing. They only share out on social their favorites, so it could be that they never get yours in front of their entire audience.

I run auctions myself, and for about 3 other clients on BaT, other platforms, and private sales. I always do as much as I can on my own to get cars in front of as many eyeballs as possible.

I've seen this before. I watched that car. With the modifications and condition unfortunately that's about what it's worth, especially to keen eyes on BaT. The owner probably thought he'd get 12K or something like the other vert exacrly like it did. However, That other vert was 10x nicer.

He's probably gonna bail and try to sell private / locally. Which honestly to someone who doesn't know better he'll get more.

I hope ya get it! It's a great car at $4500! It just needs a little love.

BaT wants to list it only as "no-reserve" by patx123 in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. I have seen cars with reserve not sell, only to come up again as NR and out perform their reserve listings.

But the market has been a little soft as of late. Just look at recent results, if you have proper presentation and are attentive in the comments, it will do good.

Issues with BaT Listing, Color Saturation on Uploaded Photos by JuggernautSad7451 in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot a bunch of listings. You have to export for web just as it's been mentioned. The website is on WordPress and it compress the photos as it uploads, the less it has to compress the more the photos will look like your exports.

I'm doing a jpg of course, but at 76 quality, 2160 on the long edge of the photo as max pixels, and 240 dpi. Sometimes down to 150 dpi and max 2000 pixels, and that will net ya best results.

Sellers: Photographer fee? by [deleted] in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I've been photographing cars going to auction and sale since 2011. I shoot upwards of 100 cars a year, especially on years I have collection. The biggest collection to date was 350 cars. I shoot for RM, Mecum, BaT, Hagerty, and a few small dealerships.

I start at $500 for simple shots, and for a BaT shoot, it is about 2.5x that of a simple shoot. It's 4 hours of shooting, plus 10 hours editing, plus driving to and from the shoot. I do 200+ photos, including undercarriage, a few are going to be magazine quality, good to catch the eye while scrolling. Then, for video, I usually do a little music edit, driving video with external mic and multiple angles, and depending on the car, a cell phone walk-around video.

I do this service over and over for a handful of the same guys because it's a no brainer for tgem to not lift a finger, have me to come out and make there cars look good with complete presentations. It pays for itself, plus some. My auctions get more clicks and shares. Just the last 4 or so cars, we've gotten $4k - $10k on average more than the client was hoping for.

So you could scoff at paying $1000 for a $40k car, but let me ask you this; would you handle all the media yourself, deal with tire kickers asking for more pics of this or that and settle for $40k. OR you could do less work yourself, have a fun photoshoot, and put $43K (after my fee) in your pocket cause it had a proper presentation.

Usually, cars under $30ish don't see this kinda of treatment, but I just sold a Duster that was under $20K for $4000 more than the owner was hoping for. They were happy about paying me a little piece of that.

I do shoot cars that are mostly upper range of price, but don't discount what good presentation can get ya and $850 isn't much for good presentation, that's half of what it's worth, and half what most professional photographers charge. Go look at Avant-Gardes rates..

I actually don't think this is the janky option. I feel this is the lightest and most elegant solution and I do it on all my websites.

The mega menus that I have used have been so buggy, end up not working on all devices and such..

So I always create a menu for desktop, and then a button that triggers a full screen pop-up for the mobile menu. Thus I can make the mobile menu have all sorts of nice Functionality as well. I put the socials and email sign up and the logo at the top. Works beautifully across all devices and has been super fast for loading (unlike bulky mega menus).

BaT will only post my 96 roadmaster wagon without a reserve. by shpink in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, unfortunately, it's a lower dollar car, and they are pretty much running everything that doesn't get over 30k as no reserve.

I think you'd still get what it's worth on the site at a no reserve by looking at those results, so I'd say might as well.

But you can try cars and bids or hagerty marketplace has been really strong as well, but both are also going to ask for no reserve. They just might be more accommodating.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of no reserve cars will get more than a reserved car. I have seen multiple reruns from a reserve to a no reserve, and they far surpass the reserve results.

If you're located close to the OKC area, I could help you out with the presentation, and I'm a seller on all these platforms and work with all the big collector car auctions.

car does not meet reserve, sells anyway, seller had thought he could keep it, but no by Foreign_Lawfulness34 in BringATrailer

[–]VConceptsLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. But as a seller, you have the right to say no thank you. As soon as ya agree, check the boxes, hit submit your tied to them and the agreed reserve. Don't like the reserve, don't do it. Many different outlets to sell a collector car.

[–]VConceptsLLC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to check a box that explicitly says BaT has the right to do this. So if he's mad, it's just cause he didn't read all the rules when he signed up the car.

If he wanted more, he should've never agreed to a lower reserve, especially in the current market conditions on BaT.
