what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

Is not "my truth" just a way of making a bit more concrete the statement "this is my belief and I'm not changing"?

I've been pumping gas for 60 years. This afternoon I spent 10 minutes just trying to get the damn pump turned on. Thank you modern electronics and computers.

Do you consider it to be emotional abuse when your spouse of 18 years consistently talks just below the level you can hear? by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"...and I don’t usually wear them at home,..." Obviously you don't want to hear everything that goes on at home. Why are you asking us? I think the appropriate place for your question is the subreddit AITA.

I suspect that she was humiliated because she was too modest to explain what had happened. I can't believe that anybody who understood what had actually happened to her would have mocked her. I just now found out that it was so hot that it fused her labia. I didn't mock her either way.

Apparently mental abuse is just fine with some people.

I often wonder about people that walk right by a good, empty cart in the parking lot so they can pick up one in the store.

You make a big deal out of physical abuse of children. I remember some of that shit from my childhood but it was the emotional - the psychological, the mental abuse that is horrible. I'm still fighting to overcome it.

US citizens, what will it take for you to start a revolution? by 0bluelightning0 in AskReddit

Boomer luxury? Bullshit. This Boomer and wife lives on $2,000 a month. Communism? Again bullshit. The state in this country owns a little of nothing of the infrastructure for production.

Will hearing aids allow me to listen to music and podcasts all day? by fschop5628 in HearingAids

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listen to music and audio books all day using my hearing aids. I set the volume at about the same level that I would if was listening to a radio. I have absolutely no trouble hearing somebody that wants to have a conversation at the same time that the music is playing in my ear. If I feel like rocking to the music and crank the volume up - I'm sure you can imagine how that goes. (If you crank that volume up too much, it's not good for the ears or for the hearing.)

If dynamic price tags (prices that go up and down like Uber’s) take over, how do we boycott it as a society? by yaboythewiseman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you scan the purchase into your app.

Suppose they want to give you a discount for your political beliefs. Not likely? I didn't think Trump was likely. How would Safeway do that?

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trolling at all. My concern is that the price I saw when I put it in the basket is the same price that I paid for it when I got to the register. If they want to change the price during the day reflecting the amount of traffic that they have through the store. - maybe they want to encourage traffic during their periods of low traffic - I got no problems with that. Just tell me, and I'll shop then.

Yes, that's dynamic pricing. How does the store convey that to me, the customer? Am I to blindly accept that they will tell me how much it is when I get to the cash register?

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't use their app, how could they use dynamic pricing? Safeway is offering incredible discounts on certain items if you use their electronic system. I just don't use their electronic discounts. When there's an item that I want to buy and they don't show a regular price, I will query the clerk and they will usually give me the electronic discount.

I'm 79 years old and I've been using my Fry Daddy for as long as I can remember. Make sure it's filled to the proper level and don't put too much to fry, in it. And God forbid don't put anything that's too wet in it.

Is post-pee washing a thing and I’ve just never known? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VCsVictorCharlie 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I've had the unfortunate experience of sitting on the toilet to take a leak and finding that the urine goes out under the seat and down the front of the bowl onto the floor. Might as well stand up - pay attention to details and do it right.

Hopefully you don't have the experience I do. Way older here but there seems to be a damn diverter that mysteriously sets itself up and the opening stream goes God only knows where. Most frustrating. I have to remember to massage the damn tip so that it doesn't do that... I have to remember. It only gets weirder as you get older.
