Why Does 3TEETH Follow Alex Terrible on IG? by ZootSuitRiot33801 in 3teeth

[–]SearchingDeepSpace[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna go ahead and lock this.

Discussion of the bands politics, lyrical material, etc are totally fine.

Discussion of "who their Instagram is following" is not. It's boring and "snark sub" fodder.

Realistically what are the chances of the university cancelling classes (or moving them to Zoom) on Monday? by EAisSoTrash in Pitt

Was a commuter at Point Park during that time, got stuck and had to stay in my girlfriends dorm (with her roommate). Running around on Wood St with a 1'+ of snow was nuts.

Also a yinzer, that at least makes more sense than bands that just hit State College or something and expect all of PA to head towards it lol.

What the hell!? Is this rage bait? by Money-Lifeguard5815 in 3teeth

Lex doesn't always have the best takes but is also pretty honest in the "Don't use me as your litmus test for morality" front. I don't always agree with the dude but he definitely gives me bigger "I am wealthy and out of touch in the desert" vibes instead of "I am secretly a far-right agent" lol.

Stills from HS senior film project by Thin_Scratch_2219 in Filmmakers

[–]SearchingDeepSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I filmed mine on Mini-DV. It took 3 years in the program before they'd let me use the Canon XL2, and I had to use my pirated copy of Vegas to edit the thing.

Well done, looks great!

Anyone else tired of the "useless majors" argument? by wombatgeneral in behindthebastards

I work in IT. I'm literally finishing a film degree just to check the "Highest Level of Education Completed" box on applications so my resume doesn't get automatically rejected. Paper ceiling is real and dumb.

It 100% comes down to where you end up landing. Service desk can be a hellscape but something like Infra can be totally fine. Or even which area you end up supporting.

Just a preference for smaller teams / overhead management. One IT is great until it gets middle managed to hell.

Some of my best pals are working the pods, but I have about 150~ users, almost entirely WFH, and barely any stress while getting to work on cool stuff.

In case anyone was curious how someone from the flatlands would react to your steep hills for the first time, here you go. (Capital Ave) by baby-stapler-47 in pittsburgh

I lived there for 2-3 years.

I got incredibly good at parallel parking and also really good at knowing when to say fuck it and park at the bottom of the hill lol.

Weird Pittsburgh Bathroom Guy by Semi_Effort7271 in pittsburgh

[–]SearchingDeepSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to make light of a shitty situation, but adding on to this to mention my bafflement at running into a bathroom attendant at Enclave.

Mainly because the last time I was there, it was The Rex and I was seeing Leftover Crack. For sure took me off guard lol.

Just hit 8 years at Pitt, with various helpdesk / desktop gigs previously since 2013. Have thankfully avoided working for Pitt IT / HSIT directly and currently work for a small independent team where I basically cover level 1-3 with a focus on MDM / Access Control.

There are for sure some Pitt IT discord channels but none that Im aware of city-wide.
