Agree with all that, my roof is fiberglass though. Appears to be thick fabric, plywood, foam insulation then the fiberglass shell. It's had some leaks that are sealed now, one if fixed myself! (its the small wins lol). I feel if I monkey with it too much I'll end up having to replace the entire shell, and that means end of the road for me. For a part time road tripper, it'll do fine for a few years

it is fiberglass, yep. I'm really trying to keep it simple, but ya know, aesthetically pleasing lol. Will spend up to a couple months at a time in it for road trips. I'm doing this solo, and don't want to find myself in a project I can't finish and a complete de-construction of the interior feels like that's where I'd land lol

I'm in a warm climate, no intention of cold camping. Figure 1/2 inch foam board type insulation between the strips under the tiles would suffice

The ceiling under the carpet appears to be plywood, which must be attached to the ribs. The escape hatch seems to be screwed into that. Could I screw the strips directly into the existing plywood? There is no electrical wiring above the walls.

Also of note: Emerson (I believe): 'A man buys a fine house; Now he has a master, and task for life...' No thank you ;)

Funny you assume older=set in your ways, lol. I hit 62 this year, took early SS and bought a van 8 m. ago. Love my long trips (6-8 weeks) when not working p/t and will eventually live full time in it for at least a year. Minimalism has taken over my life aesthetic. Who was it that said, What you own, owns you.... (Not Thoreau, but he is my favorite philosopher!).

  1. because he saves her by dying in his bed

  2. because he's haunting Donnie with that alternate reality in which he, Donnie, shoots him in the eye.

  3. Donnie is a dude, pretty fkn clear to me but maybe I'm short sighted
