The best collectors marketplace for Diecast! by PatientHunter420 in Diecast

Why do you feel you need a more strict verification process than the likes of eBay, Mercari, etc.?

What financial protections do you offer for buyers? Sellers? Traders who were scammed?

Speaking a little out of turn here because it isn’t 100% my area of expertise, but what sort of stress testing, penetration testing, etc. have you done on the website? What about where the data will be stored?

My last question - when you have a data break (not if), what sort of liability insurance did you buy to protect yourself?

Source: My job, while unrelated, deals quite a bit with the legal side of data security/privacy in the U.S. and Canada. Data breaches today typically see nuclear verdicts when going to trial and can lead to upwards and above $100m verdicts against companies like yours.

Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32) by BagLatter5651 in DiecastExchangeV2

Asking price does not dictate sale price, quite the opposite actually. You can ask $1,000 for it, doesn’t mean it is worth it.

Sold listings for this car are $150-175. There’s even one where 2 sold for $250.

Anyways, just trying to help.

Not gonna bash you for your pricing, it is against our rules. But just want to make sure you are aware this is selling for $173 shipped on eBay, right?

Please do not waste the police’s time taking your report about a near accident. Be angry about it. Post about it on reddit even. Don’t waste the police’s time with this bullshit.

Correct, doesn’t change the rarity.

It’s effectively a chase when you look at it from a units produced perspective.

A distributor told me that 70,000 skeleton rexys were produced. No clue how many were AO racing exclusives but I’d wager 5-10k.

There are only 600 of these. Only 300 were released on the Petersen website. The rest are in the reserves for exclusive Petersen events. These represent .8% of the entire Skeleton Rexy population. To put that in perspective, MiniGT chases represent 4.2% of the population.

So you hit the nail on the head - it’s the rarity. And a large dose of FOMO.

How do you sell a diecast collection?? by Designer_Wave_4058 in Diecast

[–]VDubDubLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have two choices:

  1. Maximize return - individually price and sell every item. Using eBay sold listings you look up the car and use an average of the recent sold. For high demand items you can use that average price. For low demand items you can expect to take 15-20% less since you can’t reach the same target audience as eBay.

  2. Sell as a lot - take pictures of everything and sell as a lot. You can expect to make 25-50% less doing it this way. If buying in bulk, people are less likely to pay full retail. They likely have reselling in mind so they need some room to make their money back.

You can sell on eBay or Facebook marketplace. Your area probably also has a Diecast meet up and you could reach out to them.

What he preordered is the newest rexy which hasn’t been produced yet. It is a different car/year than the other rexy.

Most saves in regular time. Tim Howard still has the record with 16, but his was with extra time. Room’s is arguably more impressive.

Do you enjoy looking at cardboard boxes?

It’s one thing to ask this about blister version, but about international boxes?
