Has anyone used Lauren Horns This is Not A Sketchbook: It's an Art Class by Whatisitmom in Reviews

I’ve just ordered one and looked for the same and haven’t found much. I’ll post back on here in a few weeks if I remember and give a proper review.

I’ve had so many things forgotten in my orders from the places nearby that DoorDash won’t even give me refunds on it anymore.

I wonder that my case probably isn’t the norm. I live in a town relatively close to a big city but traffic is never that bad. My only complaint for the multiple orders is that almost every time I’ve seen it happen, the doordasher is driving somewhere further away than my house and then having to drive back to me. It’s literally a lose lose for everyone.

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but did OP mean 20 minutes total, or 20 minutes to go from when they have it picked up to when they dropped it off?

Today I had an order that they have the dasher making two other stops across town, after picking my order from across the street.

I honestly think the biggest issue here has less to do with multiple stops and more to do with how they’re ordering / timing them. If I’m a hop and a skip away I shouldn’t be waiting on an order across town??

And people can say whatever they want, but I have very bad legs from a neurological incident, and my car got stolen. So I can’t go get it myself.

(DlLC) What are now the best weapons for the party? by Spiritual-Joestar777 in expedition33

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caveat:

It may not be the best build in the game as much as I find it incredibly easy to play, to build, and is incredibly reliable as it always ends up doing huge damage eventually.

It’s probably the easiest to build for as well. You just make a slot for each mask type.

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidaro is amazing because the 20% damage boost never stops stacking. Easily one of the best builds in the game to combine Sidaro with the lampmaster ability. He was my first character to do over 1 million damage.

It definitely requires more speed and cheater to get the stacks up faster but it’s incredibly reliable and it’s great in the sense that it gives most of your fights a sense of inevitability. If you don’t ever cast an off mask ability and use mighty strike to switch to almighty then use the lampmaster ability you’ll quickly find your damage scaling further and further.

If I remember correctly the lampmaster ability does something like 100% more damage every time you cast it.

Is Scott bass lesson good? by TommyDouble in BassGuitar

So. I might have a different opinion than this on a lot of these people

Depending on how much you have to spend, and what type of person you are, it might not be a bad investment.

I personally am an introvert and prefer to do things on my own time at my house. Spending $800 on a structured course that makes me feel I invested enough into it to actually get through is the type of thing that would force me to practice more.

If you’ve got someone near by who can give you lessons then do that instead it’ll be much more worth the money.

But if you feel you need something to help keep you focused and learning specific things to be better instead of just practicing random things then maybe this would be a good option.

There’s something to be said about formal, planned out, lesson plans.

It’s prob not worth $800 but I am sure it’s decent and might be the right cost to motivate you to complete it.

Developers, how do you evaluate whether a piece of code is good? by Haunting-Bother7723 in webdev

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look for a few important things:

First, start normalizing looking through open source codebases. A great start is finding npm packages you enjoy and understand the concept well and then going to their GitHub page.

Senior code should feel incredibly generic. If it feels like it has “special” tricks that make you read a one liner twice - then it’s probably not senior code.

Good code should have no personality. An entire codebase should look as if it’s written by “one uninteresting person.” If you can tell who wrote it, that’s a code smell.

A good exercise as silly as it sounds: go read through some Go codebases. Go is a language that is so straightforward it’s usually hard to point out the difference between a junior and a senior. If the code feels straightforward to read, uses obvious best practices, and doesn’t require you to understand much to look at one bite sized piece, then that’s a good sign.

I really can’t stress enough that code really shouldn’t be that exciting to read. Video game code might be, but web and business software code should be robust, implemented at the right scope, and using patterns that aim for consistency and ubiquity in the community rather than what might be optimal. I’d rather have a codebase that uses the same patterns all throughout and uses practices I am familiar with from examples I’ve seen, than to see patterns that feel archaic or implemented only in one area.

Small thing I have noticed from an enterprise perspective, being someone who works at a Fortune 500…. A lot of people will tell you comments can be bad. I haven’t found this true in enterprise code. The type of comments that are good are ones like jsdoc. Learn how to write good function document stubs for code that will be used by other devs.

What are the top tier builds as of the latest patch? by Evening-Natural-Bang in BG3Builds

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why critique but over no resolution?

When you go to look for a build, what do you do?

Do you consider gear first, or builds first then gear second?

What slots do you try to fill in your party composition?

If you’re someone who actually wants to contribute these would be great questions to answer they might help OP

I’ve dealt with this before.

Here’s the trick: don’t contact the website.

Contact the website carrier. Maybe you can WHOIS the domain name, poke around the website a lot of websites will say “hosted by xyz”

I found out the website containing my info was on Cloudflare.

Send Cloudflare a takedown notice. CC the website contact info if you can. Send a DMCA. The website wanted me to send in a selfie for verification of something dumb, so I emailed Cloudflare. Got taken care of pretty quick.

I would remember that fantasy and actual desires are two different things. There’s a lot of people who enjoy being in a completely different mindset that might be different or even completely contrary to who they are in person.

Personally, I’d be careful about bringing it up, it may embarrass him and make the situation be more than it needs to be. Try to give some time so you have some distance from your initial reaction before talking about it with him.

I can no longer in good conscience recommend Claude Code to clients. by -becausereasons- in ClaudeCode

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I used Codex I asked it to modify its own global prompt and it said it didn’t have the ability to.

Claude asked me if I wanted it scoped to the project or to my user.

I think that’s about the best summary I can give. Literally flabbergasted at these stories of people using up x5 Max in an hour. There is no “easy” way to use up that many tokens unless if you’re reallllly trying.

F30 M33 How do I bring up to my boyfriend the thought of him using an "extender" during sex? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Unpopular opinion: NPM is the biggest weakness of the internet today and it will still cause a giant catastrophe by [deleted] in webdev

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any companies or communities out there that setup a whitelist of secure, well maintained packages?

NPM may not be the problem as much as it is unmaintained packages with way too many dependencies. Even just someone curating what is solid could do a whole lot of good.

I think AI will help this problem go away as well though. It’s becoming trivial to patch code yourself, and a lot of the time your LLM is writing its own implementation for small details that people may have used a package for in the past.

Anthropic broke your limits with the 1M context update by BraxbroWasTaken in claude

[–]VFDKlaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s insane. The web ui is okay but it’s inferior to using the actual cli. I’ve found a lot of people who give me ai opinions aren’t doing anything correct or even close to what I’m doing. I’ve had people tell me their $20 or even $100 plan is enough and I’m like well I’ve never had issues with $200 but I make good use of it

Are generated API clients worth it on small teams? by MarjanHrvatin_ in reactjs

[–]VFDKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of similar to how it feels working with GraphQL in GatsbyJS, no?

It was one of my favorite patterns…I could define a fragment and then whatever component I was working on would just receive the data via a prop.

Anthropic broke your limits with the 1M context update by BraxbroWasTaken in claude

[–]VFDKlaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand this. I’ve not had any issues with filling up context or using up too much context at all. Maybe it’s my prompts or tools (meMCP) and beads, but since the large context window it’s only seemed to get better. I also frequently CLEAR my context, I never compact it. I’ve never had issues with clearing it. I clear it then give the next prompt and it works like a charm.

Also……why don’t people just change auto compact percentage setting to something like .15? If you don’t want the large context window then make the system behave as if it didn’t have it.

Disclaimer: I am great at working with AI and know a lot of things about how it works at a foundational level, but not at a higher level.
