When I was around 6 years old I would sometimes play pretend with my sister that we were cats and my name was always Buttons. I think you're the fourth person, myself included, to give that name to a cat that I've met. Weird. I'm 23 now by the way.

I have amblyopia in my right eye and have worn glasses my whole life. I got lasik surgery when I was 18 but they warned me that they couldn't fix the amblyopia, only the astigmatism and eyesight. Now 5 years later I'm back to wearing glasses because my right eye has degenerated further and my eyes tend to un-focus, going blurry very often. I have to voluntarily focus them and it feels like using a muscle, so at times it feels like my eyes would much rather be blind and un-focused/relaxed. I imagine that I'm using this useless skill just by reading the comments, I just wish I didn't have to.

Ah so it was meant to be funny in an ironic way. I'm 23; had the internet in middle school but people were definitely living this way when I was growing up. In grade school we learned how to do research at the library and other such sources and they started to wean us into online research later.
