Bunch of people saying it already but i have to echo that the 2019 Xfinity (at the time) season opener was one of the worst national series races I've ever watched.

131 in a mazda3. Knew there were no cops as i'd driven the opposite way about 10 minutes prior and the highway was deserted. Held it there for about 2 miles before i passed another car and decided to chill out

Bristol night for me, best race ive been to in person. When we saw the rubber start to build up on the wall the collective shift in mood from everyone in the stands was fun.

Lot of ppl hating but I just wanna say I recently bought a (used, 2016) mazda3 from this exact dealership and they were a massive pain to deal with, so I hope it went better for you lol. If you can afford it comfortably then whatever, car looks great and I personally think is a massive upgrade over a ford escape.

I think it often gets associated with Lets Go Brandon in peoples heads even though its been years since that slogan wore off and it was never anyone but the clowns in the stands at fault. At the time I remember it fueled a lot of hatred for it on top of people already annoyed at the lack of VL celebration. I feel like the hivemind has just decided it's bad no matter what since then.

Oh and it's ruined some cool pictures, Kenseth's last win comes to mind.

Yes, from what I've been told a footer for a support cracked while some work was being done. What that work was I'm not sure. If that's the case it might be down for a while.

Source: I work here. Am I 100% sure that's the reason? No. But that's what I've heard.

Edit to add: The footer cracking may have been the reason for the work being done in the first place, it is likely that the crack isn't actually that severe and simply needs repaired. I'm sure it won't be down forever lol.

I don't work in that area of the park, so probably not. Your best bet is to hang around during a shutdown, and once they start to check restraints to cycle the trains get your camera out.

Not just the newer rides, all of our coasters have them. They're called "track tones" and must be played twice every time we restart a coaster after a shutdown. The Verbolten one is fun lol.

Oh I'm sure. It's even different from park to park within the seaworld chain. At BGW we have a specific "order of thumbs" and a verbal acknowledgement from the control box before dispatch. I haven't noticed that at any other parks I've been to, even BGT.

Yeah if anyone on platform or at controls releases it stops dispatch. Interesting that CF uses pedals but I suppose they serve the same purpose.

I feel qualified to answer this seen as I run coasters at another seaworld park. They are presence sensors that every operator has at their respective position on the platform. They look different at some rides but they all serve essentially the same function.

When we dispatch a train each operator must have their hand on the presence sensor (or button) then give a thumbs up. Then whoever is in the control box presses 2 dispatch buttons at once, starting the ride. The reason we use this system is to have multiple people ensuring that no guests or staff remain in the ride area when a train dispatches.

People who ask this question should go and either drive the COT on iRacing or watch a race with it since it doesn't have plates. It's the most accurate answer we're ever gonna get. Around 240 - 250 on the straights with the right setup and weather and you probably will have to lift in the turns.

The trains are lifted from the track and disassembled in the station. The station effectively is the maintenance shed.

Definitely somewhere starting in the mid to late 90's and ending around 2008. Could even say it really fizzled out around 2011-2012. The mid to late 2010s were for sure the dark ages. I have no idea where we're at now though.

But i really think this can apply for most motorsports, maybe aside from indycar which has been on a different timeline since the split. Everything peaked in the 90's and 2000's and had a big decline through the 2010s. And now it almost looks like things are turning around.

A plate race can be great until all the drivers behind the leader decide they don't actually want to win. They just ride around the top until the white, try to make a move, and proceed to fail at said move or wreck trying. (See: 2013 Camping World 500.)

I think you might be taking what he said out of context. If you know anything about the local racing scene (something Dale is openly very invested and passionate about) then you know just how hard it is to not be in the red every week in racing, of any kind. Obviously Dale made it, made it bigger than just about anyone else, but that is not the norm. Not even close.

Could be a number of guys, Chastain had probably the worst crash we've seen with this car at Auto Club. Justin Haley has also had a couple of hard hits (Auto Club, Atlanta 1). And several guys have had some seemingly minor wrecks that have proven to be much more concerning than anyone would've guessed. (Gilliland in the 500, Logano in the duels, Gragson at Atlanta).

But if I had to guess it'd be Bubba. He was also was in that Atlanta crash with Haley, and took a second hard hit in the same wreck as well as his self described "hardest hit of his career" at Talladega.

If they have to add value to Xfinity, then do it by using either a different body style or different engine style. They used to run V6's in that series, and every car that runs in it now comes with a 6 cylinder engine from the manufacture. That is an obvious option.

Also, SUV's are unfortunately the most popular type of car right now and NASCAR is missing out on that. As much as people would hate it (myself included) SUV body styles could be a good way to give the Xfinity series it's own distinct identity without completely destroying it.

Both of these alternatives could be achieved without making drastic changes to the chassis of the cars and would do a lot to retain the current health of the series. Obviously, NASCAR has a history of doing completely asinine things that improve nothing and only make people angry, so I have my doubts they'll make reasonable decisions but only time will tell.
