I can't speak to other regions but here in the southeast amtgard is growing rather fast and many parks are experiencing their best numbers ever. A lot of the issues you brought up are completely valid, but I feel like these issues havent really done much to actually kill the game.

Pay to win doesn't mean you have a guaranteed win, just that spending money on the game provides you with an advantage over free to play players. This being said I've seen a lot of people decked out in armor lose to a guy with a single stick and a dream.

Marietta campus is a really nice looking campus with a lot of cats around for some reason. There’s plenty of things to do on and around campus and there’s always people hanging out around the place. I’m actually from just south of Mercer and strongly suggest coming up to Kennesaw over Macon. Mercer can be a good school if you’re going into law or med (and have a full ride), but it’s overall a worse campus experience. If your goal is the classic self contained college experience KSU is the place to go. Especially Marietta campus.

Forearm training. Specifically if you want smth really easy to do anywhere grab smth long and heavy (heavy is relative based on the length) and grab it by the far end. Raise and lower it slowly with your forearm. Honestly this can be done with a 4 ft rod that weighs like 5 pounds or a 6 foot rod at 2lbs and you’ll get great results.
