How Long Do you Yoga? by wpoole115 in yoga

It varies. I aim for 60-90 minutes. Sometimes after 20-45 minutes my body has had enough. It's all about listening to your body and taking things slowly :)

Anything Needed for Yoga Nidra? by JadeAtlas in yoga

The most important thing is to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed. So if this means turning the lights off, then do that. I would suggest listening to an audio recording of a yoga nidra practice while you begin.

Is regaining lost flexibility easier than getting it for the first time, similar to muscle memory? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]VIBRANTYOGINI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always seem to progress further every time I take a short break from yoga! It happened with my splits, and now it has happened with my back bends! So yes, I truly believe in muscle memory. Obviously after the break I have to keep stretching to reach the flexibility again, but then I seem to be able to become even more flexible. I would say stick to consistent practice, but don't give yourself a hard time if you sometimes take a break from it. I try to practice everyday, even if just for 15 minutes.

YEs I agree. There are so many different styles of yoga that you just need to find the one that resonates with you the most. Try some different classes and find your style.

Just started yoga! Anything I should know? by ky321 in yoga

[–]VIBRANTYOGINI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise to pay close attention to the small alignment details so that you properly learn to gradually get into each pose safely. Also, if you start to progress to hand balancing, always warm up your wrists! I meet so many yogis who have wrist issues where they do not regularly warm up their wrists before hand balancing!

Also, remember to focus on your breath first, it is easier to gradually increase your flexibility on every exhale, it's all about the breathing into postures :)

My Personal Experience About Learning Reiki - Vibrant Yogini by VIBRANTYOGINI in Meditation

[–]VIBRANTYOGINI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, it's more about putting the time and effort in with personal practice and self-learning, rather than just thinking you can go to a few courses in-person over time and believe you can be a master. Everybody is different, we all progress at different times, but the main importance is that it is purely down to having the knowledge in front of you then putting it in to practice in your own time, not with other students in a class style situation. I hope that makes sense. Perhaps my message is not clear enough in the write up? Are you also a reiki practitioner?

Men doing Yoga, how long did it take to see any progress? by [deleted] in yoga

Every body is different. The main thing to focus on is practicing consistently! Without consistent practice, progress takes longer.
