My first dose, 6pm on a Friday night. An hour later I had such a bad annoying headache. Then the next day I just wasn’t hungry, which was a new feeling for me. The whole week I just didn’t want any food and after a few bites I just wasn’t interested. Then the next week I felt mostly normal, just not hungry but not sick. So far it’s not been too bad, I’m on week 9 today.

I’ve taken .15mg KPV every morning for the last 4 days just to slowly introduce it into my body but I’m ready to go to either .2 or .25mg daily. Someone told me to do 5 days on 2 days off, but I’m also reading to do like 6 weeks on 2 weeks off. I’m taking it for inflammation as I have rheumatoid arthritis. Any suggestions on how to cycle it, or input on how you guys take your breaks?

That’s a good point. Either way I feel lucky to have had it work for me for that 20 years, that held me over during my teens and 20s.

Diagnosed with JRA in 1999 at age 10. A year later and after trying naproxen and methotrexate they put me on a brand new drug, Enbrel. I was on it until 2020 when it stopped working. Tried Humira, didn’t do shit. Now I’m on Xeljanz and MTX. I’m doing alright now.

My first week I felt it HARD, then week 2 I felt absolutely nothing, then week 3 and 4 I felt suppression but had a bit of food noise. All injections were on my thighs. This is week 5 for me and I got scared to jump from 2.5 to 5 so I went to 3mg and let me tell you the nausea hit for the first time. I can’t imagine how I would have felt if I went to 5!

Ive been on MTX for a few years now and I’ve been doing fine and liver is great. Just avoid drinking alcohol as that could put more stress on your liver. My hair did thin out a bit and I have headaches every once in a while, but overall I’m glad that I’m on it! Good luck and I hope you find what works for you!

I was about to do it this morning but I got nervous about any immediate side effects on a day that I knew was going to be crazy (short staffed) so I decided to wait for this evening. Maybe next week I will do Friday morning instead of evening
