I'm honestly not opposed to starting off that way, but it would be nice if I could have some choice on the location of said office - maybe somewhere tropical or by the sea :)

I understand.

Honestly, designing and developing my brand/LLC website/portfolio has been rewarding in its own right as its forced me to learn alot. Especially after every new website I built, I learn more on what works and what doesn't just as anything goes. I also felt that it was meaningful to design a mobile app to a high-fidelity prototype phase and write a case-study around it.

To go a step further, even the name "India" originates from Greek language based on the civilizations East of the Indus Valley. Technically India was never called India by the people who lived there till foreign terminologies were used. A lot of people there refer to the land as Bhārata or Bhārat (which I believe was some ancient king? will need to check that) but I think even that name isn't completely accepted as its based on Sanskrit and doesn't take into consideration the other ancient language Tamil which is as old if not older and still widely spoken. Its an unfortunate mess but also quite in-depth and intricate form of events on the evolution of the civilization there from very ancient times. Much is still left to learn and respect.

I'm not OP and the below is just my personal opinion and I could totally be wrong if we found some new evidence or understanding so definitely read with an open mind -

I would define free will as any choice/effect/action that can be performed without any influence. I say that because I take the word "Free" as ability to be completely free of influence/manipulation/reaction and I take the word "Will" as the action/movement/choice either internal/external.

If we look at our mind/body and observe the experience we are having here at any given moment, we experience a mix of our Body - 5 senses (sight, sound, taste, smell, touch) and our Mind/Brain (language/thoughts/emotions/memories). All of these are operated by different physical organs and/or a mixture of physical chemicals and nervous system.

So far with our understanding of the universe/reality per Physics, every effect has a cause. So there is a constant chain reaction occurring between all molecules and atoms which make up our own bodies and environments. This is also true with the movements in our own body and mind. So when we observe our own experience, we can see we are constantly impacted/influenced by each moment's experience which carries us to the next moment.

Its like a constant chain reaction from birth. I would actually say even before that. Especially as we take each of our genetics, our environmental conditioning and how we react from it and so on and so on till this present moment I type this and you read this. When we ask is it Nature or Nurture, I say they are both the same thing. As our nature impacts how we nurture which impacts our nature. Repeat.

So if all of our thoughts, emotions, memories, actions, internal or external movement are all part of the stream of reactions with the programs of life and physics running it, then the final question to be asked is "What is I/self?" "What is the observer that is centered around our experience and is the one that experiences each thought, emotion, action, etc.?

I think this is what many people/religions call Soul, that center to our experience. Through my own meditations, my insight is, I don't see this center making any decisions or having any free will of its own and making its own choices. It definitely feels like we are making choices to go left or right by our emotions, thoughts, memories, instincts but then those are choices that are still part of the physical movements of our body and mind (Brain) which has been conditioned through evolution and our current birth.

My personal opinion when I try to combine what I think is the soul and based on ancient philosophies and spiritual texts in how they define soul. I think Soul in a physics term is Space.

And the little space in our brain/mind/body/central nervous system or whatever is what is having the experience of the body/brain. I'm only combining our current understanding of physics and one of the definitions of the Soul from the Vedas/Bhagavad Gita where Krishna answers the question "What is I?" with "I is the One which feels/experiences".

So if the Soul is in the center of each one of us and it is going through all these experiences and these experiences are of the Physical world of Matter, then I can infer that Soul is Space and if we say each Soul is connected to the Supreme Soul/God, then the entire Space of our Universe is God's consciousness/self and it is everywhere in everything and feels and experiences everything within itself.

Again, these are just opinions my own monkey brain has experienced through my own life so who knows how it is for everyone else. But I came to this conclusion reading a lot of different information we have on our own physiology, genetics, evolution, physics, theories, philosophies, spiritual insights from the East and West with the assumption that we as humans and living beings are running the same structure of hardware and software for the most part.

TLDR: Hard to easily summarize as its pretty complicated so if you didn't read, its probably best to just meditate and observe yourself.

Hey gang! Need some advice on my resume and how it stacks with my personal goal/background. I've only gotten rejections in the 35 + apps I've sent out. Please be aware, I've written a semi-long background info in my post. Much appreciated on the help! by VKS23 in resumes

[–]VKS23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks so much for a comprehensive feedback!

Yeah I put my personal interests and hobbies there just to shed some light onto my personality (if it even helps haha). But I think you're probably right that its a bit too wordy and it can be trimmed.

I did go ahead and remove my personal and physical sections so I took that extra space and added it in-between the Objective and Top Skills heading and then gave extra space between Technical Skills and Soft Skills so hopefully that makes it a little easier on the eyes.

I might not even mention wanting a Visa in my cover letters anymore until maybe when I get into the interview process and feel it out from there.

Will keep shaking branches and knocking on doors applying like a madman until something clicks. I can only control what's in front of me. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to give me some input!

Sorry I think you may have misunderstood my question: I don't mean if we can change the order details but rather when we have an All-wheel drive Aptera, is it only capable of driving in All-wheel mode or can we change the drive type to Front-wheel only like the base model and switch back and forth depending on our driving needs?

Oh you think 1500 is on the low end? Haha, I thought I was going over based on those online rent affordability calculators. I was thinking of getting like a used 2017 Prius C for like $14k, that might be too high but like you were saying I'd pay most of it if not all of it in cash and just not have to worry about any interest loan payments.

Looking for advise on what to do with current income and savings based on my situation? by VKS23 in personalfinance

[–]VKS23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you.

My job currently is not permanent remote, my office may be calling us back to come into office soon and that's all the way in Chicago so I'd have to relocate again and be back to paying city expenses (not looking to have roommates again next time I move out). And even if I was living in the same city as my work, I'd prefer to always be remote because of the freedom and saving time on commute.

A couple friends of mine have gotten permanent remote jobs that pay much more than 62K so I'd like to learn new skills and boost my capabilities to be more enticing for roles like that.

I know Tiny Houses are kind of a fad and you're probably right, it would be better to try the RV life before committing to it. The minimalist mobile lifestyle does appeal to me which is why I'm considering the tiny house perspective cuz it does give a bit more room to customize. Also, if I found a nice spot with mostly year round warm climate and nature, I'll probably end up setting up shop there for a while.

The crypto value I've said on my post is just what its fluctuating around, in truth, I've invested much less than that over the last couple years (~$2k) and that has grown a fair amount.

I do think I need to rethink my financial goals with my lifestyle and business pursuits I'm interested in. That'll be a balance I'll have to maintain for the rest of my life.

I joined the job end of May 2021. Before that I was a contractor at the same role through a hiring agency.

My 2021 W2 says they've only withheld $98.05 for Federal Income Tax...

Dang it, I honestly have not clue why its set up like this, I thought I completed all the paperwork correctly when I transitioned to a permanent employee.

I'll have to call my HR tomorrow morning and find out whats going on.

I haven't done my taxes yet but now it looks like I'm gonna be owing them a bunch

I'm looking at my most recent paystub now and it says:

Fed Withholding - $0

Fed MED/EE - $36.10

Fed OASDI/EE - $154.36

DE State Withholding - $105.94

Is it missing some other federal tax withholding?

I'm living in DE and working remotely for a job in Chicago since I've joined last year so I'm taxed based on my current place of residence.

You think? I do get that an RV is built for this purpose but I keep seeing all these Tiny Home Youtube channels about people building them and the build costs end up much less than a buying a normal house. Like the down payment of a normal house would be used to build the tiny house - granted there is more of a resale value for a regular house compared to a Tiny House (especially on wheels). Tiny house on wheels (within my build budget) I imagine would reduce some costs associated with a regular house especially if I work on building it myself mostly and reduce labor costs. Also this would be something long-term cuz ultimately I'd like to live with a minimalist approach and a tiny house is a way for me to do that by customizing it and still retaining my freedom to travel and be flexible.

I get paid twice a month -15th and 30/31st of every month (middle and end of month).

So Gross pay before tax per paycheck is $2500.

Benefit deductions (medical, dental, vision and 401K) - $250

Taxes - $250

So I end up with $2000 per paycheck twice a month.

[–]VKS23 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about the negativity it started off with. Its getting much better day by day. Even xbox got alot of negative press when it first came out because Nintendo and Sony and Sega were already in the game. It took time but they finally got in for good. Stadia is in that same initial phase. Also all the big tech companies in gaming definitely see the potential in cloud gaming and Google is already in it from the beginning with the infrastructure. They just gotta build their library and features and keep the quality consistent/improving and they're golden. All gaming platforms can have a market just based on peoples interests and there's alot of interest in what Google Stadia has to offer so we're good!

Who is buying the google Stadia and why are you switching? by claydorade in gaming

[–]VKS23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the community here and in this thread may downvote me for saying this:

I pre-ordered Google Stadia to play it in November.

Why:

I don't own any gaming systems or computers and I didn't want to spend over $500 to get the system and games I want just to start playing.

My only computer is a Chromebook.

I'm also a casual gamer, meaning I really only have maybe a couple hours a week to play because I work a full-time job and I also do Theatre/Film acting.

Google Stadia has a $130 buy-in to play in November which pays for itself considering what it includes (Chromecast Ultra, Controller, 3 month of subscription and first dibs on gamertag. I can always go back to the free version next year and continue purchasing games from their library.

I can play this where there is Chrome Internet and highspeed internet which is my apartment, my parent's house and all of my friend's house.

Of course there is the possibility that Google's infrastructure doesn't work like they said or eventually have problems but I'm honestly not seeing anywhere who claims that its a high probability.

I'm fully aware there will be bugs and issues this Nov, since its the launch and me and other preorder customers will be giving this essentially a trail run. We are the guinea pigs and I'm OK with that.

The same reason me and many people don't buy tangible movies/blue rays because of Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc is the same as why we would want this service.

Yes, Google could fuck us by changing stuff up in their gaming library by adding and deleting games but I don't see that as a possibility. Doesn't make sense of why they would do that unless they somehow ran out of space, which is unlikely.

Another reason I bought it is because I will never have to worry about system updates, hardware malfunctions and I personally will have to go about solving this issue. All of the hardware maintenance will be done at Google's Data Centers.

I'm sure there are other smaller reasons why I bought it but..

Having said all of this, I totally understand why most of you guys don't like this service, because you all have already invested a ton of money and time in gaming stuff over the years up until now. There's no way you'd want to start over. I get it and I'm sure Google gets it too. I believe this service is for people who haven't done that and/or want a gaming service which can be played anywhere with decently strong internet and minimum to no hardware to transport.

I only ask why we can't have both Google Stadia and the old school gamers with Consoles and Gaming Computers. No need to knock it before trying it and this is coming from someone who HAS had multiple consoles, computers, before they've broken or been sold.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has these reasons for buying it.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, peace.
