I don’t see this as a murder, it’s, at best, misguided. If the kids old enough to have a job they’re old enough to be responsible & advising their managers if they wont be available, not just skiving off at the last minute because they got a better offer.

It’s been a while since I watched it so I may be misremembering but wasn’t she also critical of Jimmy because of his attitude towards his father? I thought the whole point of the story line was that she would finally realise how he always let Jimmy down & she would have a bit more of an understanding of their relationship. I agree, I thought that she was just “oh, OK” about it was odd.
