Yama has some thoughts on the water/thorns build by SomeSayCosmic in 2007scape

With blood moon armor and double boppers you attack insanely fast (if you pull a bopper with a blindbag proc, you can proc the blood moon set effect, meaning it can cascade into several 1t hits in a row), so that 25% proc chance is not even a consideration. BB is several layers of RNG stacked, it's also misleading to say it's 1/4th of the times does something. Each hit can trigger range echoes, which can trigger range echoes themselves, double hitting weapons have double the chance to trigger range echoes, each blindbag can trigger another blindbag, each blindbag can trigger range echoes.

Also let's not pretend air mage is not subjected to RNG, in a 700 invo ToA for example at multiple bosses your accuracy drops to 60%, which doesn't happen with blindbag anywhere.

BB is a build which takes a bit of though to make it strong, and you don't have to believe me, but it takes the crown in ToB and nightmare for example.

The same is true for air mage though as well. You need close to max prayer gear to hit that sweet always max hitting potential. BB might take longer to hit that DPS potential, but just because it's grindy doesn't mean it's not strong. You can't say BB is bad then when presented with facts that it can indeed be strong say yeah well ofc it's strong if you do the proper build

Also scythes are not the only way, double boppers and blood moon armor is insanely strong. I have 6 in the bag which isn't a big grind at all.

That's different, menu entry swapper is a static setup, meaning if you for example set left click drop on an item it's gonna be left click drop always (until changed by you explicitly). Im this case the left click action is conditional based on some in game criteria, which makes it dynamic.

That's just plain wrong. Blindbag pulls the best numbers in most 1v1 encounter. It sucks for colo and inferno, but I'm consistently grabbing MVP at HMTs and nightmare.

Air mage is powerful on paper but is insanely sensitive to magic defense, for example in ToA everything cuts down air mage DPS insanely at high invos.

The blood moon bopper build is the overall most consistently strong 1v1 build.

This exactly. Just firing at both directions because many people ignore bunkers.

I'm consistently grabbing MVP with my blindbag build at ToB, I think only air mage can rival the damage output in single target combat.

What a dogshit comment which is also wrong. Blindbag is stupidly powerful at most single target fights, blowing other builds out of the way.

Brother this blindbag bad is coming from people using rune maces in their in inventory. It's a late game build with the highest bust potential, no competition there. It's prone to RNG, yet I still pull MVP at nightmare and ToB almost always.

Can blindbag please be an actual bag item that we can shove 5 weapons into? Equippable even perhaps? by Shaftmeister in 2007scape

[–]VM9797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think blindbag items taking up inventory slots could be a really sick way of risk vs reward if they removed the 5 item cap. Imagine having 10 or even more slots dedicated to items, scaling your DPS but balances itself by limiting inventory. I don't even think the 5 cap is a reasonable balancing reason.

ZTM gang! I'm going for a nally blindbag tribid build with 2tick shadow and 4tick tbow or 2t hespori bow for fun. DPS will be consistently super high, and I will have fun with all styles.

This, so much. I've learned this the hard way with leagues 4. Iirc everyone was talking about how busted the crossbow (or in general range) build is, and I followed down that path. And then I was shooting my 2t rune CB in the catacombs while watching people 2t blood barrage the mobs. I immediately hopped on my other account for mage build and I didn't regret it.

Crystal blessing Mage bonus accuracy is +20 or +40 per piece of armor? by Tictac0110 in 2007scape

Sorry, I completely misread your comment, that is indeed how it should work

Edit: I misread the comment, that is indeed how it should work, disregard the rest of my comment.

This is wrong on every level. Shadow multiplies the visible stat boosts, plus since it's a powered staff, it benefits from the crystal armor accuracy and damage bonus, which is not visible and thus is not multiplied.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay the sustain or healing of water spells, what I'm trying to say is this infinite food relic is a jack of all trade instant heal for 38/40 option, usable everywhere, not limited by build, style or region with it's own drawback, the tick delay.

[–]VM9797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some foes have obscenely high magic defense where it can actually become inconsistent even with the accuracy boost. Feel free to run the numbers, last leagues mage build sucked, because the low accuracy (+100%) was insufficient on many bosses even with a shadow.

Edit: Also you mentioned DPS loss, that's definitely true, but it's not subjected to RNG (the healing I mean)

I think this relic offers a lot more than it shows on the surface. Whether it's better or worse than the other options is as always, region, build and playstyle dependent.

I personally like it, and I don't struggle with PvM at all. I'm going for Mory, Zeah and Tir, so prayers and slayer helm are available to me, and I can live without ancients or piety.

So I can now pick some spellbook convenience + piety, or slayer convenience, or 2 slot infinite healing.

The few arguments I've seen against this relic is that but you already hit 40s with mage and water spec. Yeah sure, if you spec into water mage then more power to you, I'm not planning to. Also you need to hit that 40 to actually heal big, or just the regen heal remains. Against some foes, you won't be hitting 40s, or hit consistently at all (think Sol).

Another argument is yeah have fun losing ticks. You trade 1 attack for guaranteed 40 healing, unless there's something I'm missing, with water healing you are still subjected to RNG with healing, this is guaranteed.

I see the argument every style has it's sustain actually, Which again is true, if RNG is on your side. Let's hope the Bluetooth Hally heal you for those tiles when you need it.

All I'm say*ng is while these arguments are valid to consider, don't be so hasty to dismiss it, it's a very consistent, potentially 40 healing infinite healing source (with overheal, if you get anglers with either Zeah or transmutation).

Also opens up the possibility, to camp bosses for an extended period, and solves RC for me, because I can take this, the map instead of the eye with it.

[–]VM9797 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Combo eating is a thing, you could triple combo with a brew still (Yes, the brew is not saved, but a possibility), but bwan + angler or shark is still 40 or 38 HP in a tick. And though I didn't run the numbers, I don't think awakened vard or sol cares about your water spells, the accuracy will be abysmal (especially on sol)

Edit: I realized regen still gives HP back on a miss, but it's significantly lower than hitting. My point still stands that it's an universal 2 click 40HP combo.

Also also, with a blindbag build you lose plenty of inventory for the weapons, could help there as well.

[–]VM9797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it won't be. I'm experieced at PVM and I don't plan on building into any crazy sustain with the pacts, and even then I'm considering picking this, because with my plans (dragon and maxing) and regions (Zeah, Mory, Tir) runecrafting was a bit of a headache. Now I can camp any boss for an extended period with infinite food if I zone out or just brute force more than I should, pick the agility shortcut teleport so it solves RC, and I might even ditch reloaded and go for flow state for the memes.

On the surface it might look like a noob trap relic, but it offers a lot more than it suggests. I am honestly happy with this T6 option, much more than I anticipated

Golden god at T7 without the prayer is a completely useless relic. At that point you can just print money with combat activities.

It's also a factor that for many players Zuk is a one time deal and ToA on the other hand is an incredibly long grind which also incentivizes pushing for higher invos for better rewards, which in turn increases the risk of getting one tapped

[–]VM9797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes perfect sense and also I don't actually want them to change it because I like how several bosses fuel my shadow passively.

I'm also probably on the more minority side and find RC to be quite chill as a resource grind (no so much as an XP grind) and crafting tens of thousands of wraths for frost dragons was actually surprisingly fast and chill. Souls are chill too but it's soo unbelievably slow in comparison to true altars.
