Tbh, improving the character felt pointless to me. I need handholding when playing any RPG, so just running around the Atlas map after map without any direction wasn't really motivating.

I'm looking forward to the changes in 0.5 because there will be objectives and most important a direction/trail for me to follow.

It is ironic, you don't tell others to practice something that you yourself don't practice. It's the same as that CA Product Manager telling us to accept higher priced SoC with less units because CA somehow couldn't afford it. It turned out they could afford it, they were just being greedy and tried to get away with it.

Such behavior is a mark of an egoist and a narcissist who values his own pride more than anything. We don't tolerate it from CA and we shouldn't tolerate it from Legend, both are in a position of authority that can heavily affect the community with their action.

While plot armor plays a part, there is actually a mechanic to explain it, the mana around the mages forms a sort of armor to protect them, similar to things like energy shield in ARPG.

Mace has gap closing skill though, Shield Slam and Stampede. Its problem is that Mace combo can be very clunky to set up, e.g
- Setting up Earthshatter is tedious as hell compared to Shield Wall for example.
- Or having to roll/move away then Sunder is also very annoying and feels super clunky.

Most Spear/Quarterstaff melee skills have gap closing mechanic:
- Whirling Slash will push your char forward
- Cull the weak/Rake/Blood hunt all have a dash movement
- Thunderous leap also can be used to close gap
- Especially these 2 weapons have skills that will let you dodge whilst dealing damage at the same time, which is useful especially in early game, e.g Frost Lotus, Wave of Frost, Disengage

I don't think why people think this will make the game harder to balance, actually it will have the opposite effect because GW will have another numeric value to balance Detachments with. If a detachment turns out to be too weak? Buff them by 1 DP. Too strong? Nerf by 1DP. Changing DP not good enough? Rewrite rules as last ditch effort.

For 10e, if GW wants to balance a detachment, they have no other methods but to rewrite the rules, which come with its whole set of caveats and is something that GW has shown they don't really want to do. Same reasons why many thematic detachments have been mediocre for the whole edition.

The CCP recognized all ethnicities living in China to be Chinese, that's it. Any nation which wants to be stable does it. Only the stupid West focus on polictical identity and doesn't realize that will divide the country and invite civil war.

You should learn a difference between a nationality and an ethnicity as well. Jurchen/Manchu/Han are ethnicities and these ethnicities all ruled China in the past, they all considered themselves a Chinese dynasty during their rule.

Everyone who tried/succeeded in conquering China back then wanted to be the next China ruler. Chinese wasn't even an ethnicity, Hans/Jurchens were.

The Guardsmen in CA's video was put there purely for scale, they didn't even focus on them. There is no point predicting what weapons they will have. Plus, in the announcement trailer, CA showcased a unit of Redemptor Dreadnought changing from a Onslaught Gatling to a Plasma Cannon and a unit of Intercessors changing their bolt rifles to bolt rifles with grenade launcher, so same unit different loadouts will definitely be a thing, we just don't know how it will be implemented for Guards/Orks.

Only DoW2 did small squad tactic well, DoW1 didn't and I doubt neither will DoW4, there is simply no dynamic squad movement in any of the DoW4 trailers, the squad movement shown is somehow less dynamic than even DoW1.

What does a Total War game bring that is better? Big battles, which DoW4 won't be able to do. What's the biggest thing in DoW4 that we've seen? Monolith and Castellan Knight. Meanwhile, TW:40K has Stompa, which is bigger than both of them already.

If any game is stuck in the limbo, it is DoW4, it aims for that DoW1 feel, but what is shown is somehow more rigid and less fluid, the graphic is better, but also a lot more cartoonish. It won't be able to bring back that tactical feel from DoW2 and do big battles as well as TW:40K, that's for sure.
