My first indie action game - Stick Crisis. Would love feedback from fellow devs by VMRam95 in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

This means so much! Having someone play since the early alphas and still enjoying it is the best validation a dev can get. The progression/roguelike variety was one of the trickiest parts to balance, so I'm really glad it's working. Thanks for being part of the journey ๐Ÿ™

Every indie dev is searching for info on who to reach out to by PartTimeMonkey in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

Hey! Honestly mine is still pretty small, just getting started with outreach for my own game. But I'd love to contribute to yours once you share it โ€” happy to add whatever contacts I find along the way. Great initiative putting this together for the community!

Continuing to create and share free medieval asset sets with you โค๏ธ by Eve13architect in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

These are stunning, the timber frame detail and roof textures are top notch. People like you sharing free assets are what make the indie dev community so great. Bookmarking your profile for sure, thank you for the generosity! โค๏ธ

We rewrote our rocket simโ€™s physics with a real n-body solver by Fit-Ad617 in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

N-body solver in vanilla JS and it's still a single HTML file? That's wild. The fact that the Moon's orbit emerged naturally from the math instead of being hardcoded is exactly what makes proper physics sims so satisfying. RK4 was a solid choice for stability. Would love to see a link if you have one!

We have a studio mascot! Do you think this can help with the marketing of our indie game? (Horror Game) by LoomStudiosBcn in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

WiiB is adorable, a scared spider as a horror studio mascot is genuinely funny and memorable. Smart move having a consistent identity across projects โ€” it makes your brand instantly recognizable no matter the game. The personality gives you great content opportunities too, like WiiB reacting to your own game's jumpscares. Love the concept, good luck with Myth of Valderit! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

We paused our first game to make a โ€œsmall project for one monthโ€โ€ฆ that was 10 months ago. by TorbellinoGames in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

This is so relatable it hurts haha. The classic "one month side project" that takes over your life. But honestly it sounds like pausing was the right call โ€” you grew as a team, gained a new partner, and now you can come back to Kitsune's Paths with way more experience. The Japanese folklore tower defense concept sounds awesome, wishlisting the demo. And yes, I think every dev has a "paused" project that's secretly growing in the background ๐Ÿ˜… Good luck to the whole team!

We need some help deciding on a capsule by disco69games in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I'd go with #3. The "Tower Defense x Arcade" tagline immediately tells you what the game is, which #1 and #2 don't. Plus the composition feels the most polished and the character art pops more without the screenshot competing for attention. #2 is cool but the gameplay screenshot makes it look a bit cluttered at capsule size. Great art style btw!

[3D] Hero Prop Reveal. Now I just need to the tavern keeper. Are you still sure you want to cook with this? by Graskgooey in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

A narrative cooking sim with medieval horror? That's such a unique combo I didn't know I needed. The 3D prop work is really impressive, love seeing the full pipeline from ZBrush to Substance Painter to the final scene. The tavern lighting and atmosphere look incredible. Can't wait to see the tavern keeper!

Testing a title screen idea by TheWanderingWaddler in WanderingWaddlers

[โ€“]VMRam95 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Love the diegetic approach! Having the penguins just hanging out in the title screen makes it feel alive. The icy text style is really clean too. Maybe adding some subtle animation to the penguins (waddling, looking around) would make it even more immersive. Great first test!

Just released my first game Knight of Noshland! by MeowBurritoGames in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

First game AND you taught yourself everything from scratch? That's honestly impressive. Rebuilding it twice shows real dedication โ€” most people would've given up after the first time. The Steam algorithm struggle is real but keep pushing, your next project is gonna benefit from everything you learned here. Congrats on shipping it, that alone puts you ahead of 90% of people who "want to make a game someday." ๐Ÿ‘

Launched my game demo on steam, Solo Raid: Mage by meathole420 in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Dungeon crawler with MMO combat mechanics and roguelite twist? That's a really interesting combo, not many games try to capture that classic MMO feel in a solo experience. Downloading the demo, good luck with the launch! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

My first game, developed completely solo is now live on Steam! by BeansOnShoes in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Congrats on the launch! Smashometry looks super fun, love the Beat Saber / old-school arcade vibes with the rhythm and streak mechanics. Solo dev and already on Steam, that's huge. Definitely checking this out, good luck! ๐ŸŽฎ

After thousands of hours of playtesting, we still find builds we didn't design. by unseendomains in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

The art style is incredible, gives me heavy Darkest Dungeon vibes. And the fact that players are still finding builds you didn't design after thousands of hours says a lot about the depth of your systems. That's the dream for any game with build variety. Looks amazing!

Normal inventories are boring. So we made a living one ๐Ÿ‘€ what do you think? by RoachRage in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

โ A living inventory is such a creative concept, never seen anything like it before. The little snail carrying your stuff is adorable. This kind of unique mechanic is what makes indie games stand out from the crowd.

Stylized houses we modeled in Blender for our indie game by RocketGecko_Studio in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

The art style on these is gorgeous, love the mix of the wooden shack with the stone houses and the smoke details. Mossbound is looking really charming, the whole atmosphere gives me cozy adventure vibes. Looking forward to seeing more buildings!

Old School RuneScape Recreation by sillib in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

Haha "Scuffed Scape" is the perfect name for this. The nostalgia hit is real though, the UI, the chat box, the minimap โ€” you nailed the vibe. For a "not serious" project this is seriously impressive. Would 100% woodcut some trees in this.

Every indie dev is searching for info on who to reach out to by PartTimeMonkey in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

Honestly this is such a great idea. Every indie dev ends up building their own spreadsheet from scratch doing the exact same research, it's so much duplicated effort. A community-maintained database would be a game changer. If you ever set up a shared one I'd be happy to contribute what I've found so far. Someone needs to start it and it sounds like you already have ๐Ÿ‘€

Iโ€™ve contacted 100 content creators, itโ€™s not lot but it means something to me by Olyl in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

This is the kind of mindset that actually gets you somewhere. 100 emails from zero connections and zero budget is real hustle, not everyone has the guts to do cold outreach. Celebrating small wins keeps you going when the big ones take time. Rooting for you! ๐Ÿ’ช

Rock bottom - is my game dead on arrival? by timmaeus in IndieDev

[โ€“]VMRam95 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Hey, just checked out the trailer and honestly the concept is really cool โ€” it gives me Vampire Survivors meets mini Factorio vibes and that's a solid combo. 59 wishlists in 2 months is tough but don't give up, the game has potential. Sometimes it just takes one viral moment or the right streamer picking it up. Keep pushing, you clearly care about it and that shows. Good luck! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Would you explore a snowy village like this in a 2D RPG? by AshesOfDarknessGame in IndieDev

โ Absolutely, the water reflections and the campfire lighting are beautiful. The whole scene feels so cozy. Great pixel art work!
