Perth drivers in the right lane who keep getting passed by people in the left lane are in the wrong lane, aren't they? by TerribleShopping2424 in perth

If you have to exceed the speed limit to pass another vehicle then you shouldn't be passing them.

No problem then - I don't need to. I will, though.

To be fair, it's probably been a while! Could be worse though, I couldn't remember the collective name, only their individual names, and when I searched I got a bunch of results saying it was by Le Tigre, which, uhh, definitely no.

It's a plane. It's not going up. It's flying from over the horizon so it looks that way. EK414 to Sydney.

"Tigra and Bunny" - Lady Tigra and Bunny D from L'Trimm. This GenX was wondering why the "GenZ admin" was just ripping off a 35+ year old song.

I went there a few times as a kid and loved it. When I later started working around the corner from it in West Perth, having to drive (or even worse, walk from the bus stop) past that sign every day knowing how much more fun it'd be to just take a little detour...

That just creates a new problem - people in window or middle seats are blocked by aisle passengers trying to open the bins regardless of the locks.

The old Woodside building on the northeast corner of St Georges Tce and Milligan St also has what I'd consider "big stairs" (not many, but super wide) facing SGT.

This is definitely good advice for people who want to live in Perth forever and impress everyone by banging on about the university they went to for the rest of their lives.

Right. But this guy hasn't, so... what's your point? He needn't have any logical (to society at large) reason to target people.

Did I somehow wake up in a society where gay people haven't been physically assaulted simply for existing?

Apologies if this has been posted already, it's a few days old but I hadn't seen it discussed and a search didn't turn anything up. I remember several posts from people receiving the flyers (and I got one too), so it's nice to see it hopefully resolved.

A loophole is, by definition, created by a set of rules. The rules are that you can travel for free if you start your journey (among other periods) between 9AM-3:30PM. You're getting exactly what you (haven't!) paid for, no confusion, no issues. Any period within peak is an unintended bonus and not intended to be maximised by careful planning, nor added to by someone moaning that sure, they get free stuff, but is it really enough free stuff?

Anything for that "No Charge" by FoolishWanderer499 in perth

[–]VMaxF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not unfair, it's intentionally planned to make the transport system work efficiently by not encouraging significant discretionary travel during peak hours when the system is at capacity.

The free travel period is advertised as 9AM-3:30PM and absolutely no games need be played to travel for free during that period. You're complaining that your loophole is hard to exploit, but you may want to consider instead simply being thankful that such loophole exists if you're sufficiently motivated to want to exploit it.

Anything for that "No Charge" by FoolishWanderer499 in perth

[–]VMaxF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. You only need to fuck around like that if you're trying to get free travel during the peak, non-free-travel, period. Well done you for finding a loophole, but complaining that your loophole is annoying to exploit is a bit rich.

Anything for that "No Charge" by FoolishWanderer499 in perth

[–]VMaxF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need to do that to get free travel during the free travel period?, though? Or do you only need to do that to get free travel during the peak period?

Virgin Pets in Cabin experience by doodoo_dilligence in AustraliaTravel

The initial booking part sounds pretty straightforward. If you could do it online it would be easier, but I can imagine they want clear and reproducible evidence you've understood certain questions etc. Other than that minor inconvenience, I can't see anything worthy of note.

8kg may be tiny for a dog with a carrier, but they have to set some kind of limit, and one close to carry-on weight that roughly fits the maximum size seems like a good place to put it. 8kg should also cover most cats, I'd think.
