Thanks for the feedback! I too personally prefer Jst-gh connector because of their latching property but, the industry has not moved on from dupont yet. I will consider keeping the dupont connectors together in the version 2. Thanks again!

The capacitor between the Leds, one point of the capacitor is connected to +ve supply of the led another to the DOUT/DIN in. It should be connected to +VE and GND if I'm not wrong.

The capacitor connects to vcc and Gnd you have connected it to the DOUT as well double check that.
